Vizio model M320SR has black screen but has sound. V logo appears when tv is first turned on then goes away.

If there is no video but you have audio or you have intermittent video:
  1. Press and hold the mute button on the VIZIO remote for 3 to 5 seconds. Some VIZIO TV's have a "Mute Screen" feature that turns the screen off if you are streaming an audio application (Pandora, Spotify, etc) and don't want the screen on. To activate/deactivate this feature, hold the mute button for 3-5 seconds.
  2. Turn the TV off and unplug it. Press the power button on the side of the TV for 30 seconds. Let go of the power button and plug the TV back in.
  3. Check the connections between the TV and device. Ensure the cord is connected securely to the TV and the source device.
  4. Try a second device. (Example: If the issue happens on a Cable/Satellite box, try using a DVD player or gaming system to see if the issue occurs there.)
    1. If the issue occurs on multiple devices there is an issue with your TV. Please contact Support by Clicking Contact at the bottom of the page or give us a call Monday - Friday from 7am - 11pm Central Time or Sat. & Sun. from 9am to 6pm Central Time at 855-833-3221.
    2. If the issue only occurs on one device the issue is not with the TV but with the device or the cables used to connect it to the TV.

What do i do if a red ring comes on the xbox

This problem depends on how many red lights there are. The problems can be from a corrupt hard drive, to an overheated console. In this solution, I will mention all problems, and solutions.

1 Red Ring means hardware failure in your Xbox console. It can also mean hard drive corruption. There are multiple solutions to this problem. Turn off your console and unplug every single cord, cable, and memory device on your console. Wait about twenty seconds, and plug everything back in into it's origanal spot, and make sure everything is connected correctly. If the problem still occurs, try unplugging the console's hard drive, then turn on your Xbox 360. If your console then works after this, it could mean your hard drive is corrupt, or broken. Make sure to also disconnect all other memory units out of your console, such as a memory card. If the problem continues, contact Microsoft Support at the following link.

http://www.xbox.com/support/contact

2 Red Rings means that your Xbox 360 console is overheating. Overheating is a common problem with Xbox 360 consoles. Turn off your Xbox console. Make sure it is in a roomy spot, and not near a heated spot. Also make sure it is not on top of a towel, or anyplace cluttered. As seen here,

natesprague6_4.jpg NEVER cool off a Xbox 360 in a refridgerator, or freezer. This may cause further problems to your console.

3 Red Rings means there is a hardware problem, or something wrong with your power supply. To solve this, make sure the color on your power supply is always orange, when your Xbox 360 is off. Also make sure the color is always GREEN when it is on. If it is RED when you turn your Xbox on, try unplugging every cord, cable, and memory device on your console, and plugging it back in about 20 seconds after, and make sure all plugs are connected securely into it's socket. If this does not resolve your issue, contact Microsoft support at the link at the following link,

http://www.xbox.com/support/contact

4 Red Rings indicates that there is no audio/video plugs detected from your AV plug. This is a simple problem to fix. Make sure all plugs are connected firmly into the correct color sockets on your TV. The following colors are the ones that need to be plugged in a Flat Screen TV,
2 Red, 1 Green, 1 Blue, 1 White. As seen here,

natesprague6_5.jpg Although, on a small, old TV, you usually only need to connect the yellow, and white cables. Make sure if you're using an old TV that does not support HD, switch the AV cable to 'TV', if it is switched to 'HD'. If this does not work, you may have to buy a new AV cable.

I hope this helped you, and the Fixya community! Contact me if you're still having trouble!

Everything works on my xbox 360 but the video wont show up, whats wrong and how do i fix it?

Make sure your audio/video cables are plugged in properly. If this is so make sure the switch on your cables ( only for some people ) is switched to the setting you have your tv on be it hd or tv. If this has not solved it try making sure your tv is on the correct setting and if all this fails your tv may be wrecked on the video ( yellow ) port, or you made need new cords like $10 2nd hand.

Connect a monitor to a yahama HTR 5660 receiver

"trying to connect multiple devices to a yamaha receiver if I am using an S video to connect the tv (monitor) to the receiver do I plug it into the monitor OUT s video or would it be Input not output?" Input on the Monitor from Video Out on the Yamaha.

"if I am only using the monitor for video and not sound do I still need to plug in the audio cords or do i leave them out " - Presumably the monitor doesn't have speakers or audio connections, so it's a non-issue. Your video sources should have audio routed to the receiver. If the monitor has speakers I would also send 2-channel analog audio to it from, say, the cable/satellite box, so you could hear the weather or other lo-fi video without turning on the Yamaha.

Bottom right ring blinks. No audio/video works. Tried multiple TV's & multiple audio/video cords. What's wrong??

The most likely cause is a hardware problem with your Xbox.

Your best option is to contact Xbox support at 1800 469 9269 and open a support case. Say the word "Agent" when the recording begins to play so you can get connected to a real person.

If your Xbox is still under warranty, Msoft will repair it for free. If it's not under warranty, the repair will cost $99 - $120.
