I presume that you are trying to run some computer-game software that requires a "better" video-card than what your computer hardware can offer. If you have a desktop computer, you can purchase and install a "better" video-card. If you have a laptop computer, it's not possible to "upgrade" the video-adapter, and thus, it won't be possible to play that particular game, unless the instruction manual for the game has some suggestions on how to play the game on a computer with a "low-end" video-adapter.

After loading pet vet 2, window appears..pixel shader unavailable...what do I need?

PIxel shader unavailable would point to your video adapter being too old for this game. You would need to buy a newer videocard if your pc has a free slot.

Error in play crysis 2 unsupported videos card

It looks like your card is below the minimum requirements for this game. You will need a faster (newer) card to run this game. It's not surprising, as many of these shooters have very high system requirements, and your 3-4 year old card probably wouldn't cut it even if it did work.

The good news is that a new card will run it faster and look better. Since your old card is PCIE 2.0 compatible, make sure that your new one is also 2.0 compatible. (Unless you know for sure that the mainboard supports PCIE 2.1) PCIE 2.0 cards will work on 2.1 mainboards, but the opposite is not true.

Hi. It seems most of your computer hardware meet the requirements for this game. However, you do not have a separate video card. You are running on an Integrated Graphics Driver that comes with your motherboard. Most of these "default" graphics drivers do not have sufficient processing power to run newer games. I'm surprised you can still play the game tho, even at low speeds. You may have to get a new video card to play this game at full speed.

I have an HP m1050y Media Center XP desktop pc, and I need to replace the video card to run some new software that requires OpenGL2.0 support. The software manufacturer suggested upgrading to at least a...

These newer video cards should be able to fit in your computer. According to HP, you have a PCI Express slot, which is what the video cards use to communicate. It is a first generation slot, however, so you won't get maximum performance out of a lot of the newest or highest end cards. One of the 9800 or 4XXX series cards should do nicely. The only other thing you should be concerned with is the power supply, which should probably be sufficient, wattage wise. All these video cards require a direct connection to the power supply, so you need to see if your power supply has the connectors required. You will need either a dedicated video card connector, or 2 molex connectors, which is probably what you'll have. Molex connectors normally attach to hard drives and CD drives. They have 4 pins in a single row and there are usually multiple connectors on the same cable. If you have 2 of these open, you can use an adapter to convert them into one of the PCI power connectors, which has 6 pins in 2 rows. The video card might come with one (they often do), but if it doesn't, one shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. Good luck!

Upgrading a monitor does not require uparading the RAM or the video card on your computer unless you want to run graphic intensive video games.

Shader 3 compatibility?

Hey,

If you look at this page you can see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_shader#Hardware_Compatability

PS version (pixel shader version supported / compatible)
so that would be for shader 3 requirement

Ati Radeon x1300 to x1950 cards support it Also!
Nvidia Geforce 6 and newer.

The Radeon hd 3xxx and newer support version 4 (everything 1 2 3 4)

well you can see on the list.

If you want a cheap card with just shader 3 support

get ati radeon x1900 or better
or Nvidia 8 series, nvidia 8600 GT for example.

Do you need a place to buy them from?

in the USA - http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category.aspx?Category=38&name=Video-Cards-Video-Devices

for example, this one is cheap
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814140104

But it requires a PCI-E slot on the computer. Looking at your computer you have a agp slot, I think its time to buy a new computer for the newer games.

Game will not install

make sure your video card has enough memory. The package to the game should give you the system requirements. If you dont meet those upgrade. Newer game require at least a video card with 256MB OR 128MB

Freeze with mpegs

Have you installed the latest direct X9 and have you completely uninstalled the last graphics card driver ad re-started your pc, if you had one previously as this can conflict. There must be a major driver problem as video's can be played on the most basic of graphics card. The only other problem may be the NVIDIA chip is not compatible with the motherboard, as i have had this in a number of cases before and had to replace with an ATI chip based card.
