Question about Manfrotto Photography
I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find anyone who can explain how the tripod head on the mini Manfrotto (MODO) is removed from the center post. I've already ordered a replacement and am leaving on a trip in about 2 weeks, so I'm under a crunch!!! Please help!
I have the national geographic branded version. Here is how you remove the head.
(1) remove the center post from the tripod
(2) lock the ball head with the trigger lock
(3) grasp the body of the ball head with one hand and the center column with the other.
(4) turn counter clockwise.
If you're intending to replace the ballhead, be warned that the thread is non-standard. I have a new "plug" with a standard 1/4" thread made for free by the machinist at my job. I don't know how you would go about adapting it without such a capability.

Contact Bogen in the U.S.A, They are the exclusive importer of Manfrotto products, On some models, the center post and the head need to be replaced as a unit- check with Bogen.
