The display fuction in your TV is on. Go to menu, navigate through it, find the display items chareteristics, hilight it and turn it to off with the help of 'vol' button.

    Forwarded this info to my friend 60 miles from me and he informs me he can get to the menu items but before he can make a change the set goes back to main memu.
    Looks like I may have to drive to see it myself.
    Any other solutions welcome I'll be back next week if I find one.

    Hello
    If your friend can get into the menu items, he must and can select the appropriate function by the help of Prog or Prog_ buttons of the remote contol handset, or Tvs front controls. He must do. all fuction selections are done by Prog or Prog- buttons and all adustments should be done by the help of Vol or Vol- buttons. As he select the fucntions; fuction menu itself will turn hilighted. The hiligted fuction will be activated by pressing Vol button.
    Your friend may be pressing menu repetedly. If menu button is pressed once, we are entering its options. If an another press is given to it will go out without any adjustments, and will retain as it was before.
    You just call him and inform him about this. It is an easy task to do for a customer. Ok
    If he can't do this let me knew through Fixya. I'm here connected and will be for at least two hours.

    Thanks, I think later this week I will have to take the 60 mile dive to see for myself.
    There hasn't been a Big Screen or any other TV I couldn't fix as I was authorized over 35 years by Sony and everyone else to fix their stuff after I opened my shop in 1980.
    I served 8 years in the U.S. Coast Guard 1969/1977 and have an extensive knowledge of electronics but these simple things my friends ask me can really give me a headache.
    When I get over there the end of this week I will surely post the answer or what I see happening..

    We may have an easy answer to the display problem of my friends TV.

    In the owners manual it is "Highlighted" page 17 that when you first turn on the TV out of the box "Initial Setup" menu will appear *every time, until you press channel up on the front panel or remote to perform ...Autoprogram...

    Now that I know he had a power failure the night before this happened it makes sense.
    Thanks for the manual this was too easy but I'm retired since 2003 when this set came out.Never saw one.

    I retired in 2002 when these sets first came out so I had never seen this menu or any like it so I would not know over the phone as he described it to me.

Pictures,Very light and lines through it


Keep the ISO as low as possible.
Keep your exposure as low as possible.

Lines come in screen or lines come just in display. If it just comes in display then you need to just switch off the Grid Lines in the menu

My idect D1i phone keeps asking me to register


Hi , The phones which keep saying Register mean that they have lost the coding for the Base. To re-code them all you do is
press the menu button,
Press down Button 3 times until Setting comes on the screen,
Press the Button Phone/Ok,
The Display should display HANDSET SETTING,
Press the Button Phone/Ok ,
Then Press the Down button about 4 times until Register Comes on the screen,
Press the Button Phone/Ok,
Enter Base pin ( 0000 )
The Display will show REGISTER IN PROGRESS,
then immediatly press the Handset Locator Button on the Base and hold it in until you hear a tone.

Thats it , the screen should display Register Done.

You can purchase a new back piece to it and that should fix it . They generally run $20.00 or less

Hi,First there is no signal from the PC . check if the display card has come out while moving the monitor, or just reinsert the display card in the PC , then boot the pc .

Display box keeps popping on and off on screen


Your display box continues to pop up because of the way your optimum box is connected to the back of your television. If you are connected with a coaxial cable from the box to the back of the tv, you will get that display box. The reason you are getting it because of the weak signal coming from your coaxial cable(which is the worst cable to use when connecting ANYTHING to ANY tv, especially a lcd tv). That cable is sending a fluctuating signal and your television is adjusting to that(hence the reason the display box comes up). Use composite cables(typical red, white, and yellow cables) to connect your box to your television and I guarantee your problem will be solved. Make sure you unplug that coaxial connection from your box to the television.

Sharp LC37D44U. Display in top right corner keeps coming on. It cannot decide whether the audios is "mono" or "stereo."


I think you mean the channel/audio status display keeps coming on which normally indicates a poor reception (the channel beacon would come on when changing channels and then goes off) I think you should have your aerial system checked out.

my hp 3052 suddenly stops, and there is a display "scanner error 6,turn off then on" Of course i did turn off and on several times but it keeps on coming back.
