Question about Relisys RLT1720 17" LCD Monitor

Open Question

My Dell desktop screen suddenly had a flash display of Genesis Display Perfection and for a brief moment I saw a normal screen before it went black, This happened twice in a matter of an hour while I was trying to adjust the angle of LCD by pushing its top a little backwards. A short while after the 1st blackout, the normal screen came back preceded by another flash display of Genesis Display Perfect. The 2nd blackout happened about half an hour later in the same manner while I was trying to readjust the angle of LCD. I can hear the normal noise from the machine and see the light on and it can be turned on and off as usual. What is this? How can it be resolved? Could it be an anti-virus protection? I read on internet and just guessed randomly. Thanks beforehand.

SOURCE: LCD display failure

First place to check will be the power supply section, look for bad caps with bulging top first, post back what you see so we can guide you more, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

SOURCE: Urgent problem with my relisys monitor, please help!

sounds like an overheating problem. you can try blowing out the back of the monitor, or putting a fan close to it. If it is really dirty it will shut itself off so as to not get damaged. is it crt, or lcd?

Video driver problem - black screen

My Dell Inspiron 530 (running Vista) started having video problems. (After working fine for months).  It would boot and let me log in, and would display the desktop for a moment, then the desktop would refresh, the screen would go black, and my Viewsonic VG 150 LCD monitor would display an error "Out of Range".
"Out of Range" error means "I am getting a signal, but it's not a signal that I recognize so I can't display the image".
It would boot correctly in Safe Mode, and also in 640*480 resolution.  But it would not work in 1024*768 resolution (the native resolution of this LCD).
I noticed that Microsoft Update had, the night before, installed an Optional update to the Intel onboard video controller driver.  The driver was dated Feb 2008 and that is the latest from Intel, so I don't understand why it installed a new update in April 2009 (?).
I ran the Dell diagnostics on the video hardware and I did notice that in one sequence of about 15 screens that flashed quickly, two of them displayed the Out of Range error. So clearly the Intel video hardware is able to generate a mode that this monitor cannot handle.
My best guess is that something about the automatic Update of the driver is what broke this installation.

I removed the Intel driver (in Device Manager.. Display Adapters), so Vista fell back to its generic video driver, and the problem went away... I can select 1024*768 resolution and it boots fine.
I haven't yet attempted to reinstall the Intel driver (I'm just happy to have it working again).

All of a sudden, the screen display went black. When we restart the computer (Windows XP), we see the initial windows logo but nothing else -- EXCEPT, pressing and holding the screen's "INPUT...

Very doubtful. Either you have a defective or corrupt display driver, or possibly a malware infection. Is that a laptop or notebook computer? If so, is there a VGA port for an external monitor? If do, try using a known good external monitor.

Dell Dimension 3000 Video problem

There may be a problem with your windows installation. Search Google for Hirens boot CD, it is a free download and should contain a live XP installation. When you turn on the computer tap the appropriate button to reach the boot menu, then insert the CD and select your CD drive. Once booted it should display a live XP.
Alternatively you may have your monitor set to an incompatible resolution. If tapping F8 won't display the advanced boot menu then try finding an auto setup on your monitor or change the resolution using the monitors controls. If the advanced boot menu does display then select low resolution mode.
Hope this helps,

How do I get rid of a blank screen on my laptop

You may have a defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Display flashes DELL logo on power up and then goes black.

Try pressing Fn + Monitor. It sounds like you have it set to pipe video out to an external monitor.

Hope this helps.
