I've got a Sony STR-K880 Cinema surround system and the remote control won't work it anymore! The only thing it will do is turn the system off when I push the'AV I-O' button and the &#

I had the same problem. Found the fix in this document
STR-K880 service manual
On the amp, while powered off:
"While depressing the INPUT MODE button, press the POWER button to turn on the main power."
You may need to do this more than once.
This switches command mode between AV1 and AV2.

I have a Sony STR-DE945 home theatre reciever, i keep gettin a clicking sound and then my surround speakers cut out.

It's probably your fan.

The system runs hot, as it supplies a lot of power to push your speakers.

The system knows that without a fan, it will overheat. If the fan gets hot, the system will throw its self into safety mode, to keep it from burning its self up.

Have a tech check your fan.

It says push power protector on my home theatre

Hello,
These Usually a protect fault will indicate a bad transistor in the amplification section. I suspect that the control circuit is sensing a fluctuation in the power supply and going in to protect mode. (assuming that the protect circuit itself is working properly) If a voltage is too high the unit will go in to protect mode to prevent damage to the speakers and the rest of the unit. I would take the unit in to a local repair shop and get a estimate of repair charges. Expect a 60 to 80 dollar repair charge depending on how many parts need to be replaced and what the repair labor rate is in your area.

Hope this help in solving the problem....

To get the STR-DE845 ( or STR-DE945 ) out of DEMO MODE - Turn unit on and HOLD POWER BUTTON FOR A FEW SECONDS ...Turn unit off and when you turn it on again it should be reset ...It worked for me.
( Note : You may need to do this procedure before it goes into its actual demonstration of features ... Press and hold the power button immediately when it initially starts scrolling it's DEMONSTRATION MODE message . )

Error 12 sys reset

Usually caused by a faulty or inadequate power supply failing to get the drive spinning up to the required speed.

I'd try replacing the power supply with one that matches the specs in the manual first to see if that fixes the problem.

If it doesn't you're looking at a possible hard drive reformat which will mean taking the drive out, hooking it up to a computer, reformating and then placing the drive back into the DP02.

Fortunately in most cases its a simple matter of replacing the power adapter.

Good lick.

Sony HT-DDW740 Tuner Hum

Hi:
On the stanby power supply replace or have replaced C899 with a 100uf 35V capacitor, this capacitor goes bad and produces hum in the supply voltage to the AM FM circuits.
