2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee started, ran for a couple seconds then died now wont turn over. I've read that its an immobilizer issue, ave tried a couple of the "reset" procedures posted online....

But did you try howling at the moon with an aluminum-foil cone on your head and turning around 3 times? ;)

It sounds to me like it is time to have your computer systems scanned for fault codes. Most of the immobilizer system "fixes" posted online are temporary at best. (like the 10 minute time-out thing. That only works for certain types of failures when the system does not recognize your key on the first try. Even then, it doesn't fix anything, it only delays the inevitable for a while).

This could be something as simple as a shorted battery cell causing the computers to do crazy things, all the way to a failed control module or bad ignition switch. The only way to find out for sure is to ask the computer system that controls it.

My key won't turn in the ignition.

first try using the key both ways to see if one side is worn out. then , if that does not work try putting some dry graphite in the lock cyl and wiggling the key. you can also try tappin on the lock cyl with a hammer while working the key to see if you can rattle loose seized tumblers. if none of this works you can get a hold of your local chrysler dealer, and they cn cut you a new key by code NOT BY COPYING YOUR OLD WORN OUT KEY using your vehicle vin number. if none of these work you will need to get the lock cyl drilled out (best done by a proffessional) hope this helps

Programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.
