SOURCE: AR1 Subwoofer Keeps Blowing the 5 Amp Fuse

I had the exac same issue. It started out with buzzing sound, but then quickly evolved into blowing the main 250V 5 Amp fuses immediately. I sent mine to ABTechservices.com and they found some blown resistors and leaking capacitors. I'm waiting to get it back (shipping to me now), but supposedly they have replaced and tested and all is working well. I'll let you know how it turns out.

The price they charged me, including return shipping was $187.50

SOURCE: best hook- up Polk psw10 sub woofer to yamaha rx-v663 receiver

You will not need to y connect your subwoofer, if you have only one RCA sub out on your receiver the other end of the RCA connector cable goes into the left input on most powered subs, there is no loss of signal, the option exist as some receiver do sport a double RCA sub out.

SOURCE: subwoofer eating fuses.

Check the circiut board for any blown capacitors. Sometimes it's that simple as replacing a capacitor. But then again, what is causing the capacitor to blow??/ Hope this helps.

Hi I have a Polk PSW10 it keeps blowing fuse as soon as I plug it in after replacing fuse

Fuses blow when there's an overload. The most common cause is a shorted semi-conductor in either the power supply or the main amp stage.

Polk sub DSW2000 fuse blows each time you switch it on.... How do i fix it or any circuit drawings or service help....Thanks for all replies

Sounds like your fuse is rated too low, try a heavier fuse or search Retrevo Manuals.com and you may find a manual.

My polk psw 10 keeps blowing the 2a fuse as soon as i plug it in ? Any solution besides the dump ?

Unplug the power, get inside it and disconnect either lead to the driver; stand back and plug it in to see if that helps. If so, the woofer is shorted and can be replaced failry cheaply. Otherwise it's probably more complicated and expensive for a hands-on tech to isolate the electrical problem.

Internal fuse keeps blowing out.

Suspect an overload in either the power section or the main amp semi-conductor. Look for parts that are damaged or get hot.

Blew a fuse what kind dose it take is it a slow blow fuse or fast blow one,i took out the old fuse and it reads le.3a/250v is it a 3a or .3a

It is a 3A/250V fuse, also known as a 6A/125V fuse.

Power amps generally have slow blow fuses.

PSW 10 Not working

Your 2A 250v slow-blow fuse is blown, located under the back pannel. Mine just did the same thing. Problem is the problem with my PSW10 goes beyond the fuse. I have contacted Polk tech support to help me trouble shoot.
