Hi,

H4 indicates fault with the fuser, fuser temperature is low.
Sometimes it can be reset by technician and works fine or you should replace the fuser lamp.

TRY out this to reset, as per the manual,
PRESS: Clear - exposure - clear - exposure = the LED display will turn off.

PRESS: # of copy keys until you have 14 displayed.

PRESS: Enter.

If the problem persists, you need to get this repaired.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

It is the fuser, but sometimes it is just a false code. to reset enter buttons clr, exposure, clr, exposure, the display will blank, enter 14, press prnt button, then clr several times to get out and thats it.

To clear this code do the following.-
-----------------------------------------------
PRESS: Clear - exposure - clear - exposure = the LED display will turn off.

PRESS: # of copy keys until you have 14 displayed.

PRESS: Enter.

Sharp AL 1540 cs Code CH What is the code and how can I fix it. A new toner cartridge was installed last night.

Check the new unit is correctly seated and open and close all covers on the printer until it clears.
The CH Code is for an open cover but maybe to do with the cartridge not being seated correctly.

Sharp copier model AL 1540cs gives a code H4

H-4 is usually a fuser low temp indicater. Use simulation 5-2 to check fuser lamp. If lamp checks good move on to next problem (it will light up..trick door switch so you can see the light from end of heater unit) The thermister could be dirty or defective(fuser must be dismantled to clean)

Code CH on Sharp copier

CH code on a Sharp usually means the front door or a side door is not completely shut. Try opening and closing every exterior door until the code goes away. If the CH is flashing, it could mean either an optical or a heat roller fuse might have blown. Have you recently replaced any supplies?

I have 2 model al-1540cs copiers that are producing blank copies. The scanner doesn't seem to be moving and is in the unlocked position. I am getting no error messages, the paper is facing in the right...

When [L1-00] appears, the scan head
locking switch is locked. Turn off the
power, release the scan head locking
switch, WAIT 10 SECONDS and turn the power back on.
