Question about HP Compaq dc5700 Microtower - Free Flat Panel until 113007 EW287AV-KIM PC Desktop
I raised the output tray to load paper and now I can't get it to go back down and I'm afraid I'll break it, HELP!
Do you have the printer instructions? They usually have this information. You can download them from the HP web site and see if it helps you. Without the printer being in front of me, I can't tell you how to do it.

Shut down the power to your HP Slimline computer.
Remove any memory cards or other devices from the desktop.
Disconnect the power cord and peripheral devices from the computer.
Lay the computer flat on your work surface.
Remove the three screws on the rear of the computer cover with a Phillips screwdriver.
Slide the cover toward the back of the computer then lift it off the tower.
Set the cover aside.
Raise the wire latch in front of the hard drive mounting area.
Pull the cables straight out of the connections to disconnect them from the hard drive. Unscrew the retaining screw in the side of the mounting tray with a Phillips screwdriver.
Grab the tab on the hard drive tray and slide it back out of the mounting area. Remove the screws that secure the hard drive to the tray with a Phillips screwdriver.
There are four screws, one on each corner.
Slide the hard drive out of the tray.
