Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 Printer

1 Answer

My HP L7780 Printer will not power off by the on/off button. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, are there any solutions other than unplugging it? Thanks

Follow these steps

1.Unplug the power cord while the printer is ON

2. press and hold # and 6 button at the same time

3. while holding them plug in the power cord

4. when the printer turns on release the buttons

It will take 2-5 minutes and it will restore the printer to factory setting that means you will lose all the numbers if you have saved in it and IP address if it has any.

Our HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-in-One have had a paperjam. I have removed all the paper, but the printer shows the whole time there's a paperjam again. The printer makes a sound when you turn on the...

Try unplugging the power cord of the printer from the back of it while it's turned on and then plug it back in.
If you still gave the message try pressing ok and see if you get rid of it.
Here are some work arounds for that issue:*Try removing and reinserting the cartridges and make sure they are properly fitted in. *Remove and reinsert the duplexer *Try cleaning the rollers infront of the printer and from the back of the printer. *As for the rollers try, moving them and turn them around with your fingers. *Turn the power off and then on
This is a hardware issue already so if all else fails for your printer. It's better to just call tech support. If the printer is in warranty they will be able to replace it. If it isn't they might let you in on a good deal.

My HP 7780 always says phone off hook. When I disconnect the phone line for awhile and reinstall it faxes once properly then the phone off hook message reappears.

I use a VOIP line and get the same error msg. Here's what I do- I dial the fax number with the line unplugged (hence no off-hook message), press "start Fax", and as soon as I hear the fax machine "Click" to pickup the line, I put the line in the machine. Works every time!

HP L7780 will not align and will not print in black. When I print out the self-testpage, it prints only in magenta. I have gone through 5 hours of BS with HP and nothing seems to work.

I just went through this problem. I called HP and they said to do a Semi-Reset, which is where you first make sure the plug is directly plugged into the wall outlet, not a power strip or battery backup, unplug the printer while it is powered on, wait 20-30 seconds, and while holding # and 6 plug the cord back into the printer, wait for a message or blank screen and then push the "On/Off" button. This has worked for me a few times now, although you have to go through some setup to get it back to where you like it.

Try performing a reset on the device. Unplug the power cable, then hold # and 3 while powering it back up.
