Question about Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook
This sounds like a hard drive failure. Before you do anything, extract the hd and hook it up USB to a good computer, and extract your data.
So, from there, it is a dollars and cents question....You have to either clone the hard drive, if it can be read, or a system reload on to a NEW hard drive. When this is all done, often you are 2/3 of the cost of a new machine, but you still have an older system.... Fans fail, HD's fail, keyboards fail.....Windows 7 works great...so no worries there...
This is your call. Personal data is important. Especially photos and e-mail addresses...
