There are three screws on the bottom and two at the top of the panel. You may have to lift the front of the washer to see the bottom ones.

The machine had an F in the display window and now I can not open the door - it's locked!

Most probably what is happening is that your washer isn't draining out the water so yhe door stays locked.
Easiest thing to do is open up your bottom panel by taking three screws off
then you tilt washer on a 45degree angle and have a couple of towels close by
unscrew cap on front of drain pompe and you will probably find some foreign objects or if not probably drain pump defective.
But before doing all this put washer in a drain spin cycle and if you hear a weird humming sound its a good indicatio that you will be performing what i suggested above

LAT 7793 ABL model number. Washer leaking during fill...? a seal or gasket but not sure how to remove the spin bars to access it

On Your washer to locate a leak, remove the front panel first. Should be two clips at the bottom of front panel, use a putty knife to pry them down while pulling lower of front panel forward (older models used two screws right through front panel on left and right sides). After getting both lower clips loose, pull bottom of front panel forward to remove from top.
Set front panel aside and then use a 3/8" socket or nut-driver to remove two screws (one each) in the front right and left corners that secure the top to the side panels of the washer (inside in front corners going upwards). After screws are removed slide machine away from the wall about 8-10" and lift front of top up. Will pivot up like the hood on a car. This will allow you to examine machine for leaks.
Let me know when you come up with leak location if you need any more help!!

Whirlpool washer door is locked on the Duet Series. Tried all the basics but still nothing.

1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

I'm trying to install a new heating element to my Kenmore dryer 80/90 series. The rear panel does not come loose after I remove all the screws. I need this to come off to install the heating element. Tks

Replace screws at rear exactly as they were. Entrance for this dryer is at the lower front panel.

Unplug unit first. Place a putty knife in the space between the upper and lower panel at the front of the dryer about 4 inches in from either side to push up the retaining clips while pulling on the panel. This will release the lower panel and give you full access to all the main components.

The heater is on the right in the metal can with the cover at the front. On the left side of the can is a thermal fuse that may be open to turn off the heater. There is also a thermostat that may be bad or interconnecting wiring. Remove cover at the front of the can and disconnect wires to element.Element should slide out for replacement. Look for screws retaining it if it doesn't.

Reverse above process for reassembly. Good Luck.

Remove the front lower panel (3 screws on lower lip - lay on floor to see). Panel come right off. there is a round "dial" to the front housing. Put down a bath towel on the floor and unscrew dial - then pull it out.

I am trying to figure out how the cabinet to my dryer comes apart so I will be able to replace the heating element.

If your dryer has the lint screen on top of the cabinet, the heating circuits are located in the rear of the dryer. They can be accessed by removing the rear panel.

If your dryer has the lint screen in the door, the heating circuits are located under the dryer drum. They can be accessed by removing the lower panel under the dryer door. The panel comes off by inserting a putty knife in the seam, about 2 inches in on each side and depressing the release tabs. If this is a Kenmore Elite or Whirlpool Duet model, the lower panel comes off by removing the screws under the bottom edge of the lower panel.

If there is no removable panel, the entire front casing needs to come off. This is accomplished by lifting the dryer top to gain access to the screws that hold the front panel place. Use care not damage the door switch connector(s) in the process.

Lifting the top panel can be accomplished in the following ways (depending on model):

1. Grab the sides of the top panel and pull towards you while lifting up.

2. Lift the operator console first and then remove the three screws holding the top panel in place. Once the screws are removed the panel slides forward, then off.

I hope this is helpful to you. If you experience problems, please post back with your model number, so I can narow down which dryer configuration you have. Good Luck.
