Check power make sure you have solid 12 volts. Disconnect speakers, shorted speaker can cause protection mode to engage. If still in protect mode will need to repair. Kicker does out of warranty repairs on kx series amps or try T.I.P.S contact at linearpower.com. Iirc Ray @ tips was one of the engineers at kicker back when kx series was introduced.

I have a kicker cvx 12" dual 2 ohm sub. It is seized. I was running it on a jl e1400d amp at 400 watts 1ohm. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Unfortunately no. Once the voice coil is blown, that's it. I know that kicker has some recone kits, but the speaker is not able to be broken down for repair. I think you can send them off to kicker for repair, but for the cost, you can almost buy a new one. Sorry, I know it's not what you wanted to hear. www.kicker.com

When i put power on my kx 800.2 the red light comes on and thats it

Hi. As an ex. kicker engineer I know these amps. pretty well. The amp. is in protection due to an internal short More than likely it will be an output transistor or a bank of them. Try running up the amp. with no load (i.e disconnect all speaker leads) to make sure you have no shorts on any of them. If you would like it repaired I do offer this service & carry all the spares for these amps so if you know someone who can fault find & repair it I can also supply the necessary parts if need be. Good luck!

How to hook up 2 kicker 10" speakers & kicker amp to a 2002taurus

Good day ma'am, hi, hooking up an extra amp. on your radio is done by audio professionals, but if you can remove the radio out from your ford, you can install that extra amp. Just follow the diagram below.63bff30.gif You need to find line out of your radio to line in of your kicker amp. connect them using audio shielded cables. connect your speakers to the amp. I guess you this already.

I've been running a kicker kx 800.2 and it has worked until now

Hello highryguy420,

It sounds like one or more of the output components is failing on the amp. You can contact Kicker support directly for instructions to return the amp for repair: support@kicker.com . Alternatively, if you have a local car audio shop that does component level repairs, they could perhaps save you some money and time.

Hope this helps.

Specker reparir

As an authorized Kicker Retailer - i can tell you that kicker will NOT recone any subwoofer that is out of warranty!!
The only sub you can repair is the soloX.
The cone assembly is proprietary, and there is NO company that can make the repairs because kicker does not sell the parts.
(although i have heard stories of people having an IN or knowing somebody working at Kicker to get a new assembly, but its 1 in a million that it will happen.)

Sorry.

Thanks for using FixYa - a FixYa rating is appreciated!!

Kicker amps are good amps, I would weigh the cost of a new one against getting this one repaired and go from there.
