I too have the same problem with a 6 year old machine when i tokk it apart I found the inner and outer tub to be worn replace ment parts ($115.79, $345.61 ea ) basket also had broken spider gear ($350.42) and 2 broken shock absorbers @ $19.98 ea. for a total of $851.78 for parts alone no guess on what labor would be as i can do the work myself. So to recap purchased May 22,2004 for $1299.99 and 6 1/2 years later needs $851.78 worth of parts not counting tax and shipping to repair not a good deal, these machines are NOT worth buying! Used by just my wife and myself we live alone no kids used only recommended detergent that corroded the spider gear .

Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided you are hearing a loud screeching noise during the spin cycle on your Electrolux washer. You will hear a certain amount of motor whine during the spin cycle this is a normal operation of your appliance. -Matt
