First, you shouldn't have any fuses in your home, only circuit breakers
By code Air conditioners need their own branch circuit
Get an electrican to fix that problem

I have Rheem RAKA-060JAZ. When a/c is turned on, we feel the breeze, but no cool air. Later learned inside unit is works, but outdoor unit won't start. Outdoor unit makes no sound whatsoever.

You might consider checking the circuit breakers in your fuse panel, also the pull out fuse block mounted on the side of your house next to your a/c, you might as well check those fuses while you are at it. And lastly, look at the small thermostat wire that is attached to your cooling lines from the house to the unit. Sometimes people cut through those wires while trimming the weeds from that area. Hope this helps.

Hi All, I have a carrier reverse cycle airconditioning unit and about a week ago the digital thermostat blanked out. I spoke to an aircon repair tech and he suggested that the fuse is blown at the air...

It will be inside the unit main panel. Turn main power off and remove the main front panel. The fuse will be located on or near the fan control board. Typically they are a flat agc type fuse. 3-5 amps. The problem will be that if the fuse is blown -there is a reason for it. They don;t just wear out and blow. Look for frayed wires around the outside unit and in the thermostat to make sure you dont have a short. Otherwise, you will just blow the fuse you replace.

I have a Tempstar 9000 airconditioning unit and while I was weed wacking I accidently cut a wire to the unit. I replaced the wire but now the unit wont turn on and also my furnace blower wont work even in...

Hello TLOEKS You blew the transformer FUSE inside the blower unit! It should be a 5amp blade fuse like the one that goes in a car.It is located at the curcit board at the blower compartment.Replace that to restore low voltage power and every thing will work.Strip back the wire and match color to color to resplice it make sure that they will not touch at any time or the new fuse will blow too.wire nut or electrical tape the wire repair.

The breakers for AirConditioning keep throwing the outside unit does not come on - insiide by " the Heat or Cool buttons it sounds like it is working - I put 2 Brand new fuses...

You need to check the three wires on the compressor, hopefully one or two are burnt. If the wires are good then the compressor is shorted, way to test. disconnect wire and use a multimeter, ohms setting, touch one of the copper lines and then where you disconnected the wire from. You will need to check all three. of course make sure the you have the off. Good Luck

Was useing the oven and then everything stopped

Sounds like a house wiring problem or terminal block on the back of the unit. You seem to only have 110 volts to the unit. One of our connections may have burnt.(the clock thing I have seen many times, it is feedback.) Unplug the unit and check the wires from the unit and and to the house.

Is the unit leaning slightly down in the back. If it is sitting level, the water can't drain out of it.

Window unit just started spitting a little water and making a noise like when something is too tight a fit, a rubbing noise. just started minutes ago. it's raining but, what could of happened?

Make sure the window unit is evenly placed inside the window frame.Just a slight twisting of the housing will cause the fan blade to scrape the housing. Make sure that the fan blade has no come loose from the fan motor shaft if that does not solve the problem. Also make sure the window unit tilts slightly downward so that any water from the condensate produced inside the home on the condenser coil can drain down the slope to the outsidelike the way explained. I have also seen units that were positioned correctly but the drain trough is blocked and will not allow the water to drain outside the house. Let Me Know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

My wife wanted me to take it apart to clean it properly. we have the quadra which all of you know that it's impossible to clean. Well, after cleaning it, I noticed a fuse which is permanently in place...

You can replace the fuse by soldering a new one into place -- it's a standard fuse, just match the amp rating of old to new.

Chances are though, after you do this, it will blow again. So, there's a good chance the unit is kaput.

I have extensive experience with these units to the point of even replacing the high-voltage field wires (the two fine wires which run from top to bottom) with titanium wire. There is no real good way to keep these things running properly -- they're kinda like weed whackers -- inherently problematic.

Quadra - only red light goes on.

In addition to cleaning the plates on the cartridge, also turn the unit upside down then right side up a few times. There are 2 small wires inside the housing, and each has a ceramic ball on it that cleans the wire when the unit is inverted. Also, look through the vents to make sure the wires are not broken. If they are intact, they run in a straight line, almost the entire length of the unit.

If this does not help or the wire is broken, contact The Sharper Image. I believe this unit has a 5 year warranty. When mine failed, they exchanged it for free, even without a receipt.

Good luck!
