If you have airflow through the machine, then the motor is running. You have probably lost the drum drive belt. To replace it, you must remove the top and front panels, plus remove a rear access panel on the lower back to reload the belt on the motor and idler. Hope this helps!

No blower is not blowing the motor is not running only the element heats and can only be turned off by unplugging dryer.

Look for an access panel on the back to check the motor electrical connections (pull the plug while working inside unless you are doing voltage checks) for looseness or disconnect. Try to turn the motor by hand to make sure it is not bound-up. If you have access to a voltmeter, measure the voltage at the motor terminals when the machine is plugged in and 'start' pressed. If you can't measure the voltage, it may be time to call for professional service (is the machine under warranty?). Good luck!

My dryer, it will not turn on when I press the start button

Motor thermal overload circuit is engaged or may be defective.

Motor may be bad or something is causing it to overheat.

Try waiting for dryer to cool down. (An hour or two) If motor operates, then you have a motor that is going bad or not getting enough juice at the outlet. I am assuming it is a 220 outlet?
Is there or have you ever noticed a burnt smell coming from the dryer? This will also indicate an electrical or motor problem.
Hope this helps.

On my whirlpool stack washer / electric dryer unit ( 27" ) the dryer puts burn spots in the clothes"

If your clothes have burn spots that probably means the drum is not turning and/or you have a very dangerous "always on" grounded heating element problem. If your heating element is grounded that is very dangerous, and you should unplug your machine before it burns your house down.

Whirlpool Electric dryer type-DWJR-ELE-2406028-FM54. model LER7646JQO the heating element get very hot. the dryer does not turn on. the drum does not turn either.

If the heating element is getting very hot that means there is no air flow across it. If the drum doesn't turn then the blower is not turning causing the element to get very hot. Could be drum belt, drum rollers, or motor.

Dryer power problems

Yes, all dryers have a belt that turns the drum. Chances are the belt and heat problems are 2 separate issues.. The belt turns the drum from a motor mounted inside the unit, your electric dryer has a heater element/coils that heats the drum your clothes are in. The belt could be bad and heat element also but both at exactly the same time is rare. Try unplugging the unit for about 5minutes and see if it resets. My washer does that sometimes and I have to unplug

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!

Whirlpool LEQ7030K90 Electric Dryer (ultimate care ii) 2001 model emits a buzzing sound when the start button is pressed. Unit will not heat or turn the drum.

CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR THERMAL FUSE IS OPEN(BLOWN) IT SHOULD BE LOCATED ON THE BLOWER HOUSING. GO TO www.repairclinic.com and look for part number 2986 after you enter your model number. If it is bad you also should replace the high-limit cut-off fuse located closest to heat element.
