Usually it means your hard drive has crashed.
The PXE is your computer trying to connect to a network server (virtual hard drive).
Did you have any important files on the computer?

More than likely, it probably uses a SATA drive but to make sure unscrew the two screws holding the hard drive panel on the bottom of the laptop. You should see a symbol that resembles a circle on the panel somewhere. Open it up and carefully remove the hard drive from the computer, most laptops have either 1 or 2 screws holding the drive in place, once removed you either have to slide the drive out or pull the drive upwards, carefully examine the drive and use common sense you'll see which choice is right, just use slight force.

Take the old drive to Best Buy or anywhere else and get a drive that works. Right now they've got a 250gb drive for 47 bucks and a few better ones for just slightly more.

Any SATA 2.5 drive will work. I prefer Western Digital or Seagate. If you want some extra speed get a 7,200 rpm drive, otherwise a 5,400 rpm is fine.

Once you've got it installed you'll need to install your operating system via cd / dvd.

Hope this info helps. Sounds like you came up!

Boot from the operating disc (XP, Vista, Win 7) and just follow the prompts. Win 7 is the easiest to install in my opinion.

HI there,
The "Error" texts saying:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
Are completely normal. This simply states that there is no external cables plugged into the specialty inputs on your toshiba laptop.

The "operating system not found" is stating that your existing hard drive is either A) dead or B) been erased.

Try to re-install your operating system, if it finds no hard drive, you'll need a new one!

PXE-E61 : Media test failure , check cable PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM. No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key don't have a boot disk

It sounds like your hard disk has gone, or not being recognized by the computer... Check if it seats well in it's place.
Unfortunately, laptop HDDs don't last long these days.
