Yes, unfortuantely they do wear out (in/out connecting) ..thats why i always suggest using a USB hub (retails for about $10-$15 or less) -- plug it into one USB port and leave it (if its a desktop, dont try this with notebook or you will forget its there and cause damage while moving it around, from one place to another)

-try blowing out the dust from the inside USB connection of your computer , try it again -- but buy a USB hub first ,, youc ant go wrong having this around

is it a desktop ? if so , buy a new USB card and replace the old one

if its a notebook -- bad news , you need to spend money to replace the USB ports or buy another mainboard

i hate to see this happen --

what model & Mfg is your computer ?

The fix is simple, don't waste time by reinstalling the software. The problem is the HARDWARE located underneath your printer.

Once you have unplugged everything, turn your printer upside-down with the bottom facing up. Locate a black box with 2 screws(as shown in picture attached), you may need a star screwdriver to unscrew it.

Once unscrew the two screws, remove the box slowly and carefully as it may be attached to a lever. once the box is removed completely, disassemble everything inside and locate the longest spring inside.

The problem is the longest spring is too weak to pull the lever attached(as said above).

Solution; either change to a stronger spring or simply make the original spring longer to make it stronger and harder. One way or another just make the spring stronger and harder. Yea

Once done, reassemble everything back, make sure the lever is hooked on before screwing the black box back to the printer. Plug everything back on, try it. It worked for me. Am a proud owner of a cheap but workable HP Deskjet 1050. 22c54afd-4dc4-49d3-85f9-7942497fcbe4.jpg

My printer( HP Deskjet 1050 all-in-one J410 Series) isnt compatable to my toshiba windows 7 and i lost the cd

I checked it and found that it is compatible with Window 7.

Here is the drivers link for window 7 32bit or window 64 bit.

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

click on your printer and then select the operating system and then download HP Deskjet Full Feature Software and Drivers not the Basic Drives.

Note:-To check whether is Win 7 32bit or window 7 64bit

start>>right click on computer>>left click on properties>>now you see whether is 32bit or 64 bit operating system.

Let me know whether this was helpful or not.

Hi ,
One side of the lead is designed to fit on the computer , the other one on your HP unit . If nothing fits on any side , you need to go back to your retailer where a correct cable will be given to you , in exchange for the previous one .
Best regards .
