Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. When your ice bin gets sheets of water or blocks of ice in it, the problem is definitely the ice maker water valve. Due to the design of the water valves today there is not a way to disassemble and repair them. The only remedy is to replace the water valve.
You can go to http://searspartsdirect.com and enter your model under find it fast then choose model number. The water valve will be listed under the ice maker or in the compressor / unit section. This is an example of a water valve for a unit with in-door wter and ice:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/WHIRLPOOL-Dual-water-inlet-valve-kit-item-number-AP3085178.aspx

Changing this valve will stop your ice problem. (Turn off your icemaker) In the mean time you can pull the plastic tube from the back of your reftigerator and place it in a bucket. You will have to check the bucket at least 2 times a day and dump the water depending on how bad the water valve is bypassing water. After changing the water valve re-connect the tube to the water fill tube and turn ON your icemaker.

If your icemaker makes round cubes there is another possibility. That being the O-ring in the bottom of the icemaker that seals the cube harvest plunger.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Kelly

Follow the instructions about removing the plastic line from the back of the unit and checking for water.... in the bucket during the course of the day. I did not just start doing this and I really am trying to help you. I am not in this for money at all. My goal is too help people and save them money.

    Use this link. http://www.american-appliance.com/catalo...

My bet is your ice maker water valve is leaking water by the diaphram when it is supposed to be closed. Same thing I more or less stated in my first 2 posts. The link above will eventually help you possibly come with the same diagnosis.... Or... you could find something else as a result of learning from the link.

Hi,

Some freezers are equipped with the ability to make crushed ice. The most common will make the ice into cubes and hold it in the bin until you tell it what you want. You press a button on the outside of the freezer that says either, "cubed ice" or "crushed ice". In the bottom of the bin you will find a feeder that looks like a cork screw. The sends the ice cubes out and through the door. At the end of the feeder there are blades and when you tell the icemaker that you want crushed ice by pushing that button, it engages the blades and crushes the ice before it sends it out the door. So whether you want cubes or crushed ice, it's all at the push of a button.

Thanks and Regards,

Sub zero 532, ice maker issue. water enter the cube bin freeze into a block of ice with the cubes embedded. What is the cause of this issue?

There is a few things that you will need to check to isolate the problem. this first thing is locate the fill tube where the water comes into the ice maker. What you are looking for is any ice frozen inside causeing an overspray of sorts. If that checks good, then the next thing is look at the icemaker itself. Look at where the water goes to and freezes. Is it completely full of frozen water? if so then the water valve is sending too much water either because the ice maker called for it or the valve stuck and didn't close when it was supposed to. If its not full, look at the bottom of the ice maker, checking if there are any cracks allowing water to fall into the bin. My personal opinion though would be to change the ice maker and the water valve because of the age of the machine. the bad part is the actual icemaker for that model has been discontinued but I believe you can use a whirlpool style that matches, comes in a kit that has both the water valve and icemaker, and cost almost half the price as the original. that part number is 1129313

LG ice maker only making two ice cubes at a time

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

Melded mass of ice in bin

The only thing I can offer is to limit the out put of the machine closer to what your needs are.Or bag the ice and store in a freezer. The ice pushing down while melting is what is causing the BIG FREEZE. The bin for storage may be too big for your needs, at least at the time you write this. When the demand goes up (warmer weather) the ice would be used more and the pressure pushing down will alternate as well as people getting scoops out more often this will help prevent such a freeze up in warmer weather.

The water continues to drip after the ice cube maker is full.

Sounds like the water fill solenoid valve is leaking by. You will have to change that solenoid valve if the water continues to drip into the ice maker tray after a normal fill cycle. http://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSearch.aspx?ModelNum=JCD2295HES&mfgModelNum=JCD2295HES&fkMfgID=1
