First, make sure the 4 shipping bolts have been removed, and that the machine is level front to back and left to right BOTH! Some machines prefer to be high in the front. VERY IMPORTANT Must have a minimum of clothes & towels, sheets or blankets to wash. DON"T wash 2-5 item loads (small loads)
run machine at least 2/3 full of dry clothes. These machines are built to wash more per load, also because of the many technical parts of the machine, sensors and relays, the machine decides how much water to use not the user! Some "Old Schoolers" have a real issue with the lack of water and unclean clothing... most complaints are user error. Enjoy the new front loading technologies! Cheers! Happy Washing.

Maytag washing machine walks across floor during spin cycle

Did you set the back feet before leveling? On most units to set and lock the back feet you need to pull the top towards you so that the back is raised off the floor, then set it down again, this will release the feet and lock then down. The you level the two front feet. After this is done you must make sure your load is balanced. Distribute the items as evenly as you can in the tub. Once it gets to the spin cycle if its walking or shaking a lot, stop it and redistribute the items more evenly in the tub. Also try not to overload the unit or combining many heavy items with few light ones. If this is a new machine, did you remove the shipping locks from the back before using it? They have plastic strips attached to them, make sure they have all been removed, as well as any shipping bolts.

Washer makes loud banging noise on spin cycle and walks across the floor. The drum rotates fine on other cycles and belt seems to be intact

Have you removed the bolts at the back of the machine. they are there to help stop it getting damaged in transit but if left in when in use it vibrates violently and moves a lot read manual and look at back to see if bolts are left in and remove them if so. hope this helps.

Washer walks across floor on spin cycle and my level says its level

If the level is registering the machine as level, then you probably have an unbalanced load that is causing it to "walk." When it starts walking, lift the lid, wait until the spinning stops and redistribute the articles in the basket. I hope this helps. Walking Washer

due to weight and normal motion during wash/spin a very sturdy floor is necessary under front loads also some floors are a little slick and sliding may occur ck for weak floor and maybe some kind ok rough cushion under feet to reduce sliding also if on pedistals even more vibration may occur be sure all screws in pedistal are secure usually 4 from top onto bottom of washer also adj legs to lower unit as close to floor as possible and tighten lock nuts

Washer appears to be out of balance

Double check the screws holding the washer to the pedestal to make sure they are tight and make sure all the jam nuts on the leveling legs are tight. Loose jam nuts are the most common cause of this.

If they are tight, loosen the right front leg and screw it up until the weight is off the floor. Then run it back down until it contacts the floor. Put the washer in high spin and tighten it down to the floor until you get the spot where there is the least vibration. Tighten jam nut, and check it again in spin with a load of clothes.

Post back and let me know how this works.
