2. Turn off printer.
3. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press and hold the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)
4. While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)
5. While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 2 times. Then release both the Power and Resume/Control button.
6. When the Power LED lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button 4 times.

You have to refer to canon service centre because they don't give the software for resetting it

I have the same problem, but Jet Tec waste inks. When I first replaced black (pgi 5bk)-don't forget to place the small chip from the original cartridge to replacement; it worked fine. But now, it has a lot of problems because this **** printer from canon only want original inks (and the original are tooooooooo expensive). I'll never bought anything else from canon.

You know, I think this is the most common problem in all Canon Printers and yet Canon must do something about this. In my case I already have 3 Canon Printers The first 1 is Canon Pixma MP160 and the problem is "The Ink absorber is Full" then my 2nd is Canon Pixma MP145 still the same problem occurs my 3rd is MP145 also and I know sooner or later I will be facing the same problem.

Sometimes I think the Canon's Printer is Disposable it won't last for a long time. I just hope I can find the right solution to this problem, so that i can fix my printers. I have lost 2 already and maybe sooner the other one will follow.

Why is my canon ip1800 printer still not printing after cleaning the ink absorber, I still get the message ink absorber is full

Shelly, Did you reset printer after cleaning absorber.
Press and hold the "Power" button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the "Power" button again. This resets the printer's internal memory and overrides the "ink absorber full" error code.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Waste ink absorber is full

Hi there. I'm a certified Canon repair tech and what you will need to do is go to Canons website and get the 1-800 number for the nearest repair center. They will need to replace the waste ink absorber kit on the bottom of your printer. This will cost you anywhere from $50 and up depending on where you take it. It should only take the repair center an hour to replace it provided the yhave the kit there to put it in.

Hope this helps you out.

For that error, the printer has to be opened up, the print engine removed and the pads underneath replaced. About $10.00 for the pads. After that you need to get the service mode and reset the counter to clear the error. Not a good job to do at home...
