I also have one that will not turn on, with either internal or external power. Would you be interested in selling the unit? Maybe between the two us, I could get one of them working?

My Fujifilm Finepix S8000FD was unused for a long time and had its batteries leaked, I cleaned it and it says batteries are empty?

It takes 4 x AA batteries. Are the battery contacts on the compartment door, and the battery contacts in the base of the compartment clean and shiny. Usually when batteries leak, they cause oxidization on the metal.

The camera does have very specific requirements.

Batteries are required to operate the digital camera. At
first, load the batteries in the camera.
Compatible batteries
AA-size alkaline batteries (4) or AA-size Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries (4) (sold separately)
CAUTION
• Never use the following types of
batteries, as they could cause
serious problems such as battery
fluid leakage or overheating:
1. Batteries with split or peeling
outer casings
2. Combinations of different
types of batteries or new and used batteries together
• Do not use manganese, Ni-Cd or lithium batteries.
• Use the same brand and grade AA-size alkaline
batteries as those supplied with the camera.

And on the next page it shows the polarity two up, and two down. If those weren't correct, you would be on reduced power.

My tv turns on however the firestick will not boot up I have cleaned the are were the batteries go an have replaced them

You say you cleaned the battery compartment then replaced the batteries. This tells me that batteries leaked. If those batteries have leaked into your fire stick it is probably damaged Beyond repair.

What is the purpose for putting batteries in the thermostat

Not a gas guy, sorry. Batteries in a tstat is when you want your batteries to go bad and leak acid into the electronics and ruin the stat when they should not have been there in the first place. If your tstat has a common wire and worked when no batteries were in it DO NOT ADD them now, you are only asking for problems. No, it will not make anything work better.

Left batteries in marina 300 2 way radio .batteries leaked.now wont work .can it be repaired?

yes but usually damage from leaking batteries are the battery connections , tabs and wires which can be replaced and or cleaned up to make connections workable --when battery damage exceeds the battery compartment and into the electronics [motherboard and other circuits] usually the price of repair can be close to buying a new one

Batteries leaked

You are probably better off just replacing the movement, you can find them at timesavers.com.

Remove batteries first?

The short answer is yes, but if the batteries are left in for long periods of time without being used they may leak.

I have a Nikon Speedlight SB-600 that needs repair. The flash does not operate. I believe there is no connection made with batteries.

Check the battery contact make sure they are clean. If a battery leaked, even a little battery fluid on the contact then that could be the problem.

Not holding charge

It is likely that your rechargable batteries are no longer capable of taking a charge and have become degraded to the point they need to be replaced.

Without a model number, I can't provide you with the disassembly steps to open up the shaver and the correct replacement batteries.

Once the rechargable batteries have degraded to the point that they cannot hold even a minimal charge, it could become possible that the shaver won't operate even with the electric power cord connected directly with a power outlet. Hence, it is a good idea to replace the batteries soon to also prevent damage that can occur to the internal electronics by leaking batteries

You can go to www.electricshaver.com and look for the batteries for your model number. You can also contact them directly to get an estimate for having them do the repair service, if you wish.

Hope you find this info Very Helpful and best regards!

False low battery warning

Same thing happened to me when I used alkaline batteries. Have you tried fully charged NiMH? If not you may have a "leak". Your next option is the service center.

Repair of battery-operated wall clock

We had the same problem with our wall clock, but it was due to corrosion from a dead battery. The battery acid leaked inside and disrupted the connection between the metal contacting the batteries and the circuit (the one with the copper coil). We took everything out cleaned the contact points with acetone (nail polish remover). After that we had to bend the contact heads up just a little bit so they would contact the circuit again (I guess we bent them down a little when we were cleaning it). It worked just fine after that. I know it sounds intimidating to take apart a clock and put it back together but you're going to throw it out anyway. Just give it a try. It was kinda fun. Think of it as a puzzle. If you can't fix it, I imagine you can get a new motor at any hobby store or Michaels.
