Try cleaning the lasers lens with an anti static cleaning wipe. I used " nice'n clean" that I had purchased from Walmart to clean my laptop screen. My dvd player started back playing after gently wiping the laser lens.

Check the power supply modular cable connection that is by itself in the upper right corner.  On the one my son-in-law has the double yellow jumper wire that connects to this plug in two locations was loose (not properly inserted) in the modular connector and had worked it way out.

SOURCE: HDMI input

The green screen is caused by light hitting the back of the tv. Either move the tv to a location where direct sunlight will not hit it or put up strong curtains. As for fixing the problem, do a search for JVC green screen reset on AVS Forum, its easy to do just dont have the info with me now. Keep in mind if direct sunlight hits the back of the tv it will do it again. I have put up some good curtians and ensure not to open them when watching the tv. Hope this helps. I am Hayward, have a nice day.

Samsung ps wx30 surround sound system. speakers are plugged in to dvd player. dvd player is connected to tv via hdmi cable. speakers only work when using dvd player and not tv/sky etc.. am i missing some...

Hi,here is my simple solution...
To listen your TV on your
samsung ps wx30 surround sound system ,
** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "HDMI out " of your TV unit
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your
dvd player or "Optic Cable input" or "HDMI input"
** than just switch to respective mode on
dvd player corresponding your RCA or Optic connection or HDMI ..
.
There you go..Your TV sound is on the
dvd player By this means whatever you watch on the
TV (
tuner, satellite , Xbox , etc..) ,it's sound will come thru your
dvd player.

Hope this helps!..if more he?p requires pls let me know..
Take care and please

Trying to hook a dvd player up how do i do that

There are three ways subject to what your DVD player and receiver can support.
1. Connect the stereo output of the player using a pair of analogue interconnects. The outputs are usually color coded red and white (for left and right). Simply plug in the interconnect and connect the other ends to a matching pair of inputs on the Receiver. Then make sure you select the correct input on the Receiver for the sound to come through.
2. The second method is to take advantage of surround sound audio (Dolby 5.1 for example) on the DVD. You will of course need a surround sound speaker system connected to your Receiver to take advantage of this. You'll need 'either' an Optical or Coaxial cable. These are both single cables that carry the digital audio form the player to the Receiver. Check your manual to see which ones your equipment has. Alternatively look on the back of the DVD player, the digital output is usually marked quite clearly. Obtain a suitable cable, and plug into the DVD player and the other end into the Receiver. Again make sure select the correct input on the Receiver. You 'may' need to go in to the menu settings of the DVD player in order to tell it to output the digital signal.
3. HDMI - If you DVD player, Receiver AND TV all have HDMI connections then this is by far the easiest. You'll need 2 HDMI cables. The first one goes from the DVD player into the Receiver, the second goes from the Receiver to the TV. Again make sure you select the correct HDMI input on the Receiver and the correct HDMI input on the TV and that should get you going!
Hope this helps?

HDMI sound?

I had the same problem with my PS3. I have a HD cable box with HDMI out, a Sony DVD player with HDMI out. The Sony receiver STR-DG800 only has the HDMI inputs (sat/tv and dvd) and the HDMI is only a pass through port and will not decode audio.
I purchase a HDMI 4 port switch from Newegg (HS-41A0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812168003&Tpk=HS-41A0) to hook up the DVD and PS3 to the DVD HDMI and switch between the DVD player and the PS3. It took me several days to figure out how to make this work with the settings on the reciver.

1 the DVD player must use the coaxial in jack for sound on the receiver.
2. the PS3 must use the optical connection on video1
3. the sound settings in the PS3 must be set to PCM
4. set the sound setting on the receiver to the following

a. on the remote press AMP button then the MENU button, next press the down arrow to you see 5- AUDIO SET - then press enter.
b.set sound decode priorty to PCM
c. next scroll down to you see digital assign - press enter
assign VID1 OPTICAL to DVD ( this allows the pcm output from the PS3 to play through the receiver), next assign DVD to COAXIAL setting DVD to DVD (this allows the digital sound to play from your DVD player).

So when you use your remote and select DVD, you can use your PS3 or DVD through the 1 DVD HDMI port.
