Why wont my laptop open any links i get in my yahoo emails

I have had the same issue with hyperlinks in my Yahoo email. If you go to settings and switch back to basic mail, the hyperlinks become active again. The issue is with the "updated" Yahoo mail.

When I try to open my yahoo mail using my iPad, I get directed to http://m.mg.mail.yahoo.com/hg/ And all I see is a blank page.

I am running into the exact same thing. Started yesterday (2/15/11), and I can't get it to work. m.yahoo.com comes up fine, but when I go to "Mail", it redirects me to the same hyperlink and the page is blank with an empty toolbar at the bottom.

Default mail client

It sounds like you are trying to click on a hyperlink to email someone, like at a website. These hyperlinks are programmed to open an email client like Outlook, or Outlook Express and open a new mail message with the email address line populated.

If you are using a WEB based email like Yahoo, Hotmail and the like, then the hyperlink will not work, and you get the error you describe. Generally it isn't worth the time and effort to setup an email client if that is the only reason you are doing it.

SO, generally, I just open my email, then type the email address of the hyperlink (Support@dell.com for example)

I click on links within email messages but nothing happens - is there a way to fix this?

Hi,
If it's not opening on it's own perform a Microsoft update to resolve the problem, or what you can do is right click on the link, select copy hyperlink or hyperlink location and paste it into the address bar in the top of the internet browser window.

Good luck.

When a hyperlink is in my email (Outlook Express) I can't open it

Clicking on links in eMail is the fastest known way in the Universe to have your all on-line log-ins & passwords stolen ...

So more than one mail viewer now has the ability to block this action ... I expect you will find the control in Security / Advanced settings ... however (I would suggest) on this occasion, the PC really does know better :-)
