I sell a lot on ebay and amazon. If a buyer asks to cancel bid, I usually give way. Try asking your seller.

I over bid on an item by mistake. Instead of $2.25 I clicked on $225.00 Ebay is closed at this hour & I can not fix this muself.

your bid only goes .50 cents more than the last bid,it is ok that you bid 225.00,that was the highest you could bid, but, you got it for only 50 cents more than the last bid, dont worry,go back to ebay and view your purchase,it will tell you how much you bid,or paid for it,if the item didnt sell, then you better hope that noone bids on it before the end

How do I cancel bid ?

To retract a bid, sign into your eBay account, and then go to this page http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?RetractBidShow. You will need the item number of the auction, and a valid reason for retracting the bid. You can also contact the seller, and ask them cancel the bid for you.

How to make a secret maximum bid

When you bid on an item you can list your maximum bid. Ebay will increment your bid as someone out bids you, untill your max is hit. At the point your max is hit, ebay will email you that you have been out bid.

You can withdraw a bid under certain circumstances.
From EBay page.... Find this in the EBay answer center, All about bidding,
...
However, honest mistakes sometimes occur. You can retract a bid if you have a valid reason for doing so as defined by eBay policy and you retract the bid within the required time period.

Valid reasons for retracting a bid include:

  • You accidentally entered the wrong bid amount. For example, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this happens, you need to reenter the correct bid amount right away.
  • The item's description changed significantly after you entered your last bid. For example, the seller updated the details about the item's features or condition.
  • You can't reach the seller by telephone or email.
Changing your mind is not a valid reason for retracting a bid. In the future, be sure to carefully review the listing before bidding.

I ran out of stock of an item just sold, about an hour ago. I asked the buyer if she would politely retract her payment via paypal. she is doing so, but is threatening that I must pay her in check or cash...

i ran out of stock of an item just sold. No one likes to disappoint a customer. But my customer is WAY out of bounds. He can't force me to sell what I do not possess. I asked the buyer if he would politely cancel a transaction. I simply do not have the item.It really was an honest mistake. I mean we have a really good feedback score

What do I have to do to be able to purchase an item from EBAY ? I was looking at a pair of shoes that said buy now and when I clicked on it nothing happened. Can you give me step by step instructions on how...

Buy Now would only work if there are no bids on the item. Once there is a bid, you have to place a bid within the alotted time and wait to see if your bid wins. Buy Now allows you to buy at the listed price... no chance to get a lower price. Note however, that sometimes the listed price is the best on the marketing. Do your research before buying on Ebay. Hope this helps.

How do I delete a Bid I made on EBAY?

As a general rule, you can’t retract or cancel a bid. Once you place a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you’re the winning bidder. However, honest mistakes sometimes occur. Review the conditions and time restrictions and if you feel you have a valid reason for retracting a bid, fill out aBid Retraction form.
