The culprit is dry oil packings on either end of the motor. What happens is as the motor starts to run the shaft and bearings heat up causing the armature to almost seize up hence the slow down. To correct the problem remove the right side cover and the rear cover that shields the motor. Once the motor is exposed you will be able to visually see the oil packings through the air vent holes on either side of the motor. Apply numerous drops of oil onto the packings allowing them to soak in after each drop. A dozen drops on each side should due the trick. Happy Serging!

Your problem is probably the stitch length adjustment cam (located on the left side of the machine) To fix this problem you will need to remove the small plastic cap (with red arrow) covering the screw securing the cam. It is usually also necessary to remove the connecting rod/sleeve that the cam rides in. Once both of these parts have been removed, you will need to carefully separate them and resurface the inside of the sleeve. This can be done with a very fine (500grit or higher) emery paper. Once the cam fits inside the sleeve without binding, reassemble using sewing machine oil or lithium grease and adjust feed dog timing.

Can you describe your problem a bit better.
From what you describing it sounds like the machine does start to embroider, it starts slow then it stops.
It is normal when you first start to embroider that the machine runs very slowley, does just a few stitches and stops. This is normal and all Berninas do this. The machine stops after these first few embroidery stitches so you can cut off the extra piece of thread. Cut off the extra thread then push the reversing button again and the machine should start to embroider. It will stop again if a color change is needed. This information is provided in your owners manual.
Make sure you have lowered the feed dogs for embroidery and there is no need to have the foot control attached for embroidery though it won't affect anything if it is attached to the machine...

Motor runs but will not serge

Sounds like a broken belt. Take it in for repair (don't do it yourself... it's easy to mess up the timing.) have it cleaned, oiled and adjusted while there.

have you checked to make sure the power cord is pushed in correctly?
if the power cord isn't the problem then it may need to be checked by a service tech, because it's not suppose to be running slow just a few months after you bought it.
I would call the people you bought it from & tell them what it's doing & see if they'll give you another one, I've been sewing for 30+ years & I wouldn't keep the machine.
good luck

Babylock seger machine keep breaking the left side needle.

Try rethreading the machine, and make sure the thread is not wrapped around anything. Then check the tension for the needles. Run a few inches of chainstich off slowly, while watching the thread and loopers make the loops over the finger. Your threads may be in the wrong position, or underneath the wrong parts to start.
