NO I dont...but If you tell me what to do...I know I can do it. I would prefer to fix it myself because I can not afford to pay someone to come and fix it.

  • Anonymous Oct 16, 2010

How much would the parts be ad where can I get them?

  • Anonymous Oct 16, 2010

If the AC fuse is bad ...how would I know? I have already opened the back of the televison. I have the service information sheet.

Check the plug in to make sure that you have power and the breaker didn't trip for some reason. If that is not the problem then there is a fuse that sometimes blows. You have to take the back of the tv off and the fuse is located right down where the power cord comes in. There is a small 15 amp clear glass fuse. Sometimes this fuse blows and will not allow power to get to the control board. Make sure that you unplug the tv before taking the back off. Also the capacitors can store electricity for up to an hour. So unplug the tv and let is sit for at least an hour before removing the back.

    Thanks for your response!!

Kindly provide few more details :-

    -How old is the unit?
    - Do you have this problem on all inputs? (dvd, cable, satellite, etc )

Can you get the tv in a very quiet room, unplug the tv for 1 min then
put your ear near the back of the tv and plug it in, do you hear a
    quiet "tweak" sound?

Next have someone push the power button while your ear is near the back of the set, do you hear anything again this time?

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

OK, we possibly have a bad AC fuse then, there are several things
that can cause the ac fuse to blow on this model. At this point i need
to know where to go with my answer.

Do you have electronic repair experience, test equipment and soldering capabilities?

    What
kind of information are you looking for? A good idea of whats wrong
and what it will cost or would you like to fix this yourself?

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Another thing I would like you to try is to play with all the buttons
on the front of the set, they are notorious for going bad and causing
the set to be dead, just push them all over and over again in different
order and mess with them for a min or two and see if it comes on, if so I
can tell you exactly what is wrong with it.

    If that
doesn't work we are back to having a list of about 5 things that could
be wrong with the set, bad convergence circuit, fluid leak, bad micro
    circuit, etc.

This set is not an easy one to work on.Moreover, it does involve a risk as it requires you to work on high voltage components. We need to locate a service manual. You need to have electronics repair experience to resolve this. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix the TV without opening the TV.

If interested revert, i would provide you with a link to purchase a service manual for the same. Kindly arrange multimeter and soldering iron for the time being.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Please my tv with on the standby mode when i try to put it back it couldn't the indicator now goes on and off with picture show please help

The standby light on a Sony television indicates when the television is turned on and operating, or turned off and in "standby" mode. However, this light also serves a secondary function: indicating when there is a problem with the television by flashing. When the standby light begins to flash, there are two reset options that can be performed to resolve whatever issue it's indicating -- a power reset and a factory reset

POWER RESET
1. Turn off your TV
  • 2. Unplug the television from the electrical outlet. If you're using a surge protector or power strip, disconnect the television from the strip itself. Only by disconnecting the power cord from the outlet can you ensure no power reaches the TV during the power cycle.
  • 3. Leave the television without power for at least 60 seconds. This gives the television enough time for all components to power down during the power cycle
  • 4. Plug the television back into the electrical outlet. If you're using a surge protector or power strip, plug the television directly into the wall outlet instead. The surge protector may otherwise interfere with the power-up cycle, especially if it is old or damaged.
  • 5. Turn on the television. If the blinking standby light continues, you'll need to move on to the factory reset process.

  • FACTORY RESET
  • 1. Turn on the television.
  • 2. Press and hold either the "Reset" or up arrow button on the remote control.
  • 3. Press and release the "Power" button on the front of the television, while keeping the "Reset" or up arrow button on the remote depressed.
    4. Release the "Reset" or up arrow button.
    5. Allow the television to reset after the "Reset" message appears on the screen.
    6. Make no adjustments to the television for at least one minute after the reset has completed. This is to allow the television time to finish auto-configuration and initial set up.
7.Turn off the television and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
    8. Wait ten seconds, then plug the television back into the electrical outlet and turn on the TV.
    9. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete setup. These are the instructions displayed the first time you set up the television, for configuring channels, menu language, time, display properties and more.

Hey there! Just replaced the lamp in my sony KDF70xbr950 and now it will not even come on I have 4 flashing red lights and then goes back to a solid red light can some one help!! ...

The LAMP light is flashing or blinking.Solution
If the LAMP light is flashing, first attempt to perform a power reset on the television. If this does not resolve the issue, then the lamp inside the LCD projection television may have burned out and will need to be replaced. If this appears to be the case, consult the Replacement Lamp Part Number table to determine the correct replacement lamp for use with your projection television.
NOTE: The LAMP light is not the same as the POWER/STANDBY light.

How to perform a power reset on a Sony® television.Solution
Turn off the television.IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. Will not power up

    Hello,

If your television will not power up, there is just one problem related to this, and that is the power panel. But before You confirm it is the power panel, You will have to run a test on some components to be sure that it not other components before You go ahead to replace the power panel of the television. The components to tests are the power outlet, check if the voltage is not too high or too low to power on the television. Then You also test if the cable that connects the television to the power outlet is not bad by using it on another television and trying to use the another power cord on the television, then You confirm if it is not a blown fuse on the power cord. Once that is confirmed, then You can go ahead to replace the power panel of the television. To replace the power panel:
    1. Get a screw driver, a glove a cup and a replacement power panel,
    2. Unplug the television and put on Your gloves,
    3. Turn to the back and unscrew it open,
    4. Keep all screws in the cup in order for them not to get missing,
    5. The power panel is the panel that the power cord is attached to at the back of the television, remove it,
    6. Fix in a new one
    7. Reverse the process to reassemble the television back together,
    8. Plug it into the power outlet and power on the television.
    It should turn on now.

Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

Sony kp-61V45 will not power on but you can hear static coming through the speakers. The power button will not light up

    Hello,

The problem with the television is from the power panel of the television, it is receiving power but not getting it to the main panel of the television so as to power the screen that is why you are having the static sound from the speaker of the television.

Once you can replace the power panel of the television, your television will be in good condition once again. You can locate the power panel, it is the panel the power cable is connected to, so once you open up the back of the television, then trace the power cord to the panel it is connected to.

A replacement will do the job.

    Take care

The power cord was crushed and no power is getting to the tv. Is the plug able to be replaced as this has happened below the splitter???or whatever the thing is on the cord. thanks Shelley

If the power cord comes off the television you can replace it with a standard power cord. You have to tell the Radioshack employee how many volts and hertz. That should be on the back of the television. If the power cord does not come off the television you can find someone perhaps a tv repair guy that can attach another power cord to the one on the television. My dad actually did that when his older television would no longer power on. He took the bottom part of a power cord from a fan that was no longer working and attached it to the television's power cord. It has been working like a charm ever since for years.
