Paper is laser paper. Problem is only occurring on the right half of each page as you hold it, with the worst area being near the right edge. It is not rubbing off on the left half of each page (portrait). Have not had this problem before approx last couple of months.

Having problems with laser printers like this, simply leads to the paper used.
Please check the paper you are using, it should be for laser printing, often smooth but not too much, because non-laser friendly papers, do this behavior, the printout simply rolls(or rubs) off after printing.
Try another type of paper, or another brand of paper, be sure to sure laser ready paper.

With your situation, the best thing to do is to perform maintenance on your printer, please refer to your manual for the correct and proper maintenance of your printer,

I supposer the fuser may have affected the printout, and the only way you can diagnose the real roblem is by performing maintenance or cleaning process,

if still the problems persists, a visit to the store where you have bought it, would be recommended, for it needs replacement or some repairs, that may void you warranty shall you be the one to perform the replacement, or may even put you to risk, of shocks, or make your printer's problem worse than what it is now.

ask yourself this . Is the paper warm or hot when it has been printed on ?
check fuser unit .
No heat equals unbonded toner on paper equals smearing of toner on paper.

Toner smears on all print outs. Looking for what part to replace.

Do you mean when the print comes out the toner smears on the paper when you touch it? If so, then it's the fuser that isn't working properly.
However, if you mean when the print comes out there is smeared toner in various places on your print, but the smears are fixed to the paper, then the cause is more complicated and could be caused by a number of different problems within the printer.

Printed pages are smeared with black

Sounds like a bad toner, or possibly the scanner is dirty. If you look where it pulls the paper through it can have a small speck, but since its on the scanner tself it will put black lines all the way down the paper.
If its larger and smeared the Toner itself is probably bad and you need a new Toner Kit, should come with new rollers and a new cartridge as well.

I have a hp 4L laser printer when printing some of the [rint on the page is fine but there are areas that are faded bafly unable to read this does this even with a new toner-what can I doto fix this...

If its a laser printer you prob have a fusing issue. Its the part that actually heats the toner with fuser agent (light coat of oil) to make it stick to the paper and not smear. Either your fuser module is in need of replacing or you have something rubbing on the portion where the toner meets the paper. Chances are its the fuser module.

HP Lexmark 4050N Printer is smearing pages with faint ink mark.

This is more then likely due to an old or bad toner cartridge. Away for you to find out is to run a test print and if you listen close you can hear the paper advancing through the printer. It might take you a couple times but try to catch the paper at a point in the printing to where it would be just passing by the toner cartridge and ope the top cover. Remove your toner cartridge and pull the paper out. But becareful when pulling the paper out to not rip it or get toner on you. The toner has not yet been bonded to the paper yet until it passes the fuser at the back of the printer. If the paper shows the smear just after the toner cartridge then there is the issue.

Best of luck... And have a Happy and safe Holidays..

Smeared output can result when you refeed a printed page into the printer to make a double-sided page. This happens because the rubber rollers that grip the paper to pull it into the printer can pick up toner from the first side’s printing and smear it. So before replacing parts, this is an easy thing to check. Printing multiple pages consecutively will make the pages print progressively cleaner or you can clean the rollers with rubbing alcohol.

Smeared toner also happens because the nonstick coating on the fusing roller is scratched or has baked-on debris. This can happen if the printer is in a dirty environment especially. If you are comfortable removing the fuser, you can try to clean it with a soft cloth and alcohol, but make sure you let it cool down first!

Finally, if this does not resolve your issue then make sure the fuser is heating; toner that is not heated properly will fall from the page and smear. If the thermostat is bad or the fuser not working properly, you will most likely need to replace the entire fuser assembly. This will be pretty expensive to repair so hopefully it's one of those other issues.

When documents print out, one side of the copy is smeared. We cleared out a paper jam and I think part of the lining of the roller came off.

Poor prints and paper jams

Sounds like you probably need a new fuser. Smearing is a good indicator of the fuser not getting the toner to fuse to the paper, also, if it is jamming a lot near where the paper enters the fuser, there is a good chance there is some damage on the fuser unit itself.

Hello, when it prints it makes a noise and bottom of page is smeared

As for the noise, there are several complex gear and roller segments that drive the paper between the paper tray, the scanner, the fuser, and the finisher. If these are not perfectly aligned or dirty the printer can make a grinding noise. It's even possible that if the paper is not being fed correctly, that the shift might leave segments of it less accessible to the fuser and prevent the toner from adhering to the page.

But I would try using WD-40 to lubricate some of these components and assume the noise and the smearing are separate issues.

Samsung CLP-300 dark prints and smears

For starters remember this is not meant to be a PHOTO Printer, I am guessing the Spearing is because Glossy paper does not hold the toner like Regular paper or at least until it is fused. I am a technitiian and i also own this printer.
