I have played Catz for a few years and recently I purchased Catz5 & Dogz5 to solve a problem that I have with the game.
Some of the toys are not showing in the game (basket, flowers, dog disc). Mainly in South Seas Island, there are no jewels, nor can any souvenirs be retrieved from here. I can obtain souvenirs from other places and I know from Catz4 that feathers, gems etc could be put in the case.
As with the missing toys, the files are in the toy folder but are not appearing in the game. I cannot collect flowers or carrots.

I did some research as well. Apparently the game counts days not only using the time/date on your computer, but also only when you close down and restart the program. For example, if you leave the game on for two days, the game thinks it is that same day. I would try to close the game down completely and then reopen it. Hopefully that will put the kittens in your nursery.
Im not sure what you could do about the first half of your problem, but i think i know a way that might fix the second bit.
Uninstall, and click no, i dont want to save my petz, and then continue w/ the uninstalling (and hope it works :p)
when thats finished, install again, and play the game from My Computor, Petz, and play.
hope it workz
This has happened to me too. Okay what you need to do is go into Program Files > Ubi Soft > Petz 5 > Adopted Petz. There is probably a file in there with the name of a Petz that hasn't left it's mother yet. Delete that file - don't worry, you will not lose the baby - and try reloading the game again. It works for me every time.
Dogz and Catz 5 both seem to have alot of problems! Disk space means you dont have enough room to copy it onto your computer, I would suggest deleting some downloaded things (nothing important though, you dont want to mess up your computer, lol)
First check if the cd is dirty, scratched or damaged. If this is the case then you can try polishing the scratches out with a soft cloth and liquid metal polish (only polish the side away from the foil/label and try to only polish the scratched area) don't worry about removing scratches completely - start with the worst, then try the disk again - it might just work.
If this doesn't help then try the disk in another machine or another disk drive. if it now seems to work then although your drive may seem to work on other things it is probably getting tired.
I am assuming that you purchased the game and have a legal copy. If not then that is likely to be the problem as the software protection will not allow you to play the game without the correct CD. If you downloaded the file for the Dogz part, try burning it to CD as an image file (Check your burning software for details) and try running the game with that in the drive.
If that doesn't work, then you are able to disable the CD protection file yourself if you have purchased the game so you don't have to have a CD in each time you want to play.
and search for dogz or petz and download the appropriate crack for your version.
find the install directory where the game is installed(usually c:\program files\ubisoft\petz) and then copy the crack into this directory, and say yes when it asks if you wish to replace the slightly larger file - now the game should work.
Please ask for more details if you are unsure how to proceed with this and I am happy to oblige.
