Question about Dell OptiPlex GX520 PC Desktop

1 Answer

5.1 Sound card

I am looking for a 5.1 soundcard for my DELL OPTIPLEX GX520.

Which make/model will be compatible. I have looked at many but the computer has a small form factor and all the cards seem to be too big to fit in the cabinet.

Hi Ysippy,

As mentioned, there are many models in the market. However, you can safely bet your money on 2 internationally known brands for their sound. Creative technologies and Altac Lansing (dunno if i got the spelling right). Any surround sound system from these 2 manufacturers are sure fire winners. Well, that's in my opinion. Hope it helped.

Go to this link to determine if your motherboard will support Dual core:

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/DellPartsFamily.aspx?&redirect=1&~ck=mn&ST=optiplex%20GX520%20upgrade&dgc=ST&cid=58672&lid=1489246&acd=s16fcAdwW,6222329183,901qz26673

The GX520 does support the Pentium D, but it depends on what motherboard is in your system as some do and some don't. By entering the service tag of the computer you should be able to determine whether your motherboard is compatible.
