I have a sony walkman DNE005 that is almost new. It reads cds and displays the number of tracks and running time but will not play. I've tried a number of cds with the same result each time. Is there an easy fix?

Thank you for your suggestion. I've managed to remove the top plate and the screw you suggest tightening is securely in place and I cannot tighten it anymore. Any further suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you

If you have a small enough screwdriver and some time it's not too hard. I just fixed one of my kids' walkman (same make & model) yesterday. The motor that spins the gears that makes the laser assembly move back & forth came loose. There is a single screw that holds this motor in place. They should use some lok-tite or similar when they assemble these things.
