Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have a sony walkman DNE005 that is almost new. It reads cds and displays the number of tracks and running time but will not play. I've tried a number of cds with the same result each time. Is there an easy fix?
I've fixed mine by making sure the CD spins freely in the player. If it doesn't (there should be no resistance)lift the edge of the CD slightly until it does. My player (DNF-340) made the same clicking noise, and the message read "no disc".....this fixed it.

If you have a small enough screwdriver and some time it's not too hard. I just fixed one of my kids' walkman (same make & model) yesterday. The motor that spins the gears that makes the laser assembly move back & forth came loose. There is a single screw that holds this motor in place. They should use some lok-tite or similar when they assemble these things.
