There is a possibility that you have a problem relating to the internal refrigeration system. It may contain moisture contamination which freezes in the refrigerant feeding device. Shutting it off allows the moisture to melt and restart the circulation of refrigerant. This problem can only be solved by a certified refrigeration technician.
Making sure the condenser is free of dust and dirt will improve the ability of the system filter/dryer to absorb and hold moisture.
