When you replace the CMos battery, all of the information stored n the CMos is lost.
Go to the "Bios" setting and let it choose "Default Settings"
It should decide what hardware the computer has and then allow it to run

I forgot my bios password, i want to reset my bios password

A. By Removing the CMOS Battery:

cmos_battery.jpg Almost all motherboards use a small coin sized CMOS battery to store all BIOS settings along with the password. To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.
If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.
B. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment.

If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.

click start control panel Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password

hope this helps

How to reset cmos or bios

Hello Friend,

There are a few ways.
The easiest way is to enter the BIOS setup screen, and select the option to reset to default settings, it should be easy to find or it would be on the save changes sections.

If you can not access the BIOS setup screen, it will take physical access to the computer's motherboard. This means you will need to open up the computer case. From here there are a few options that you can do.
change the the CMOS jumper to reset.
Press the CMOS reset buttion
Or remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes.
Please note that not all manufacturer have a jumper setting or cmos reset button. Also a CMOS battery looks like a button battery.
Also if you are going to open up the case, make sure the computer is off, unplugged, and if this is a laptop the battery must be removed. Good Luck!

Replace cmos battery

You will have to open up the computer to find out. You can leave it off forever and it will be fine as long as you don't bring a magnet around it. The CMOS battery is typically a circular button cell type battery found on the motherboard.

well, try to short/ground your CMOS battery located on the mother board that may help you.

1. open your CPU Case
2. locate where the CMOS battery
3. remove it
4. turn on your PC and immediately short the + and - of that CMOS battery
5. You can now use your PC. Change your password and don't forget it.

Need to change battery as date is wrong

For that first open your cpu cabinet then check on motherbord chipset you can find 1 CMOS cell .
It is round cell which gives voltage to your bios for remember settings.
Then pull it and purchase cmos cell from nearest computer shop then put that new cmos cell in it's position on motherbord.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" then you can see bios settings screen.
Set your time and date then save settings and exit.

Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

Sounds like you uwant to change your CMOS battery. You should bring this to a professional so as to not damage your computer. If you don't know what you are doing to will cause more damage than a worn out CMOS battery
