Question about Dell V305w All-In-One R840635AU InkJet Printer

Dell V305 printer won't scan. Previous responses to this question do not resolve the problem. I've checked all cables, reloaded Dell CD, etc. Printer will print and copy so the scanning function is working, but can't get the scans to come up on my Dell 530S Inspiron computer. Please advise. Thank you. Tony

1. try to make a copy.

if it copy fine, then its an issue with software.

2. Try to scan with MS Paint,

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
Click on file > from scanners and camera > scan

It should scan if its not the windows issue...

3. Try different computer if it does not scan with Paint\

4. If it works with Paint, try to open Dell AIO center and try to fax from that too...

5. Turn the printer off, take the power brick out from back of the printer where power cable goes in , wait for 15 seconds to connect it back and turn on and try again to print, it should work fine

Do you get the same line when you use the adf for other purposes?

If so, check the scanner glass just before the platen for something like white-out on it. Clean both the scanner glass and platen glass with Windex.

That is a common problem on all ADF scanners.

How do I get missing installation disc for dell V305 printer to scanning material


go to dell website and manually download the driver.

If that doesnt work unplug your printer uninstall everything, restart the computer, reconnect the printer, manually install the drivers and restart once more.

Just got Dell v305 printer but I do not have the CD, I can copy but cannot print from my documents, What can I do? Also, why is there a question mark (Dell ? V305w) after Dell ?


For your printer to print documents, you need to have the correct driver installed. This is what would have been on the CD. You can get the driver straight from the vendor's site. Save the file to your desktop. Run it, and it will extract the driver onto your hard disk. After, it should start installing. If it doesn't, you can run setup.exe in c:\Dell\Drivers\V305 . Restart your computer, and you should be able to print. Good luck!

I somehow uninstalled the Dell Imaging Toolbox for my V305 printer. How do I get it back?


Hi,

I cannot find a separate software download for the Imaging Toolbox. I can only assume it comes with the driver itself when installed.

If you have the disk for the printer, uninstall the printer software you have already installed using the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. Restart your computer and look under the Start>Printers and Faxes and make sure it is not listed.

disconnect the USB cable from either the computer or printer and insert your disk and install as you did originally. Connect the USB cable when prompted.This should reinstall the driver and Imaging Toolbox.

If you do not have the disk, you can download the software from the Dell website at:

Download the software to your desktop. Uninstall the previous software...reboot...then double-click the file on your desktop.

The Printer cannot communicate with the computer.


you need to reinstall the printer driver follow this steps.
Don’t connect the printer usb cable first
1st you install the driver disc which is come along with the printer and when the software prompt you to connect the cable then plug the usb cable and follow the instruction.
