I had this problem several times and figured out it had nothing to do with voltage, etc. Often I had the monitor on for too long and it did this.

Unplug the monitor
Remove the battery
Put the battery back in
Plug the monitor back in
Problem solved!

Figure it's just a simple reset like on a cell phone, but it works for me every time!

Mine is still not working after pulling the battery several times. I went into the baby's room bc he pulled the cord out of the camera and I was using the actual monitor as my light source and when I plugged the camera back in, it just says no signal. Pulled the battery several times and pushed the "code" button on the back of the camera several times and still nothing. really dont wanna go out an spend another $200 when both, the camera and the monitor turn on...the monitor just seems to not be receiving the signal from the camera for some reason...arghhh

it might be because of interference. i think it takes all the power from your other phones cause it needs all the power from your other things plugged in to try to get rid of the problem. if this helped, good. if it didnt, sorry. the way to solve this is to probably look at the base and figure out how to open it and take a look inside.

Phone keeps cutting out in middle of conversation

You need to ensure that the batteries are fully charged. On the handset while talking, the phone should show how much battery charge is left.
The other thing to check is how far are you from the phone base. For example if your base is on the first floor and you are on the third floor using the handset, then you might loose the signal clarity and eventually loose the connection to the base. To ensure that you are getting enough signal on all the floor, you can purchase a range externder from the manufacturer of your phone.

Phone says searching

Bring the handset that says searching into the same room as the base and see if the handset stops searching. Next unplug the handset batteries (yes from all handsets) and the base power cord (from both the base and the wall outlet). Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the batteries and base power cord. Next try to de-register and then re-register the handsets. (If you add a comment with the phone model, I'll help you with this step. Uniden has the manuals for their phones on their site: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl .)

If this doesn't help, next try a new battery (and make sure that the battery is fully charged) for the phone. (If the phone is under warranty, contact Uniden. Note: batteries lose their ability to hold a charge over time. This includes the time on the shelf in the package.)

If a new battery doesn't help, then there is something wrong with the handset. Decide if it is worth having the unit fixed if the phone is out of warranty.

I hope this helps.

(I'm assuming that both handsets are cordless. If you have a corded/cordless model, then check that the base has power before you go farther with the above diagnostics. The power brick should be warm. We had a cordless phone on a power strip (UPS) that got turned off. The handset was searching for a signal that wasn't being sent. If you have power to the base, try sending the Find Handset message. The problem could be either the base or the handset not sending and receiving the signals between them.)

Handsets wont work at all

it may be that the handset is registred to another base unit-
we had one base and one handset replaced by uniden, but the second (old) handset was still registred to the old base, therefore everytime we tried to deregister the handset it was looking for the old (replaced) base and of course could not connect and therefore wouldnt deregister. still havent figured out what to do yet

I have a Panasonic KX-TG6051CM

I had the same problem, and it seems that the battery charging circuit in the handset had locked up, constantly charging the battery until it overheated. I was able to reset the circuit in my handset by completely draining the battery. Here is the procedure:

1. Remove the handset from the charging cradle, and leave it on for a few days until the battery runs out, and the handset finally turns off. At his point, the battery will be very low, BUT NOT COMPLETELY DRAINED.

2. Next, you must manually drain the charge remaining in the battery by shorting out the two contacts on it. Shorting won't damage the battery, since it is holding very little charge at this point. An easy way to physically do this is to remove the battery, and place a piece of thin wire across the the two contacts of the HANDSET. I am referring to the contacts inside the handset that connect to the battery, NOT the contacts on the bottom outside that connect the handset to the charging cradle. Next, put the battery back in, sandwiching the wire between the battery's contacts and those inside the handset. This will hold the wire in place. DO NOT PUT THE HANDSET BACK INTO THE CHARGER, WITH THE BATTERY SHORTED OUT.

3. Wait about 30 minutes for the battery to completely die. Remove the jumper wire, and but the handset back into the charger.

4. If the battery was fully discharged , you will get a message on the handset telling you that you should let it will charge for 7 hours. If you do not get this message, then either the battery was not fully discharged, or your problem is different from mine. Try the procedure again in Step 3 for another 30 minutes to discharge the battery some more.

5. If you get the "Wait for 7 hours to charge" message on the handset, then leave it in the charging cradle for the 7 hours requested. After that, it should work fine.

Let me know how you make out.

Registering Handsets to the Base
Whichever handset you choose to charge in the base is automatically
registered to the base. Any additional handsets must also be registered to
the base before you can use them.
Be sure both handsets are fully charged.
One at a time, place each handset in the base. The charge/in use LED on
the base begins to flash, indicating the base is registering the handset.
Wait for at least five seconds, then pick up the handset and press
[talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not,
place the handset in the base to try again.
Press [end] and continue with the next handset.
Note:
Once both handsets are registered, it doesn’t matter which
handset is placed in the base or the charger.
When you charge the handsets, Caller
ID summary screen and the name of
the handset appears.

This can be find from uniden website.

Loosing Signal

How many extensions do you have ? and do you have broadband (adsl) ? sometime's this could be just down to the phone line - if you have broadband (adsl) there has to be a filter pluged in on all other extensions, do know i'm guessing let me know this could be your problem as the filter is blocking the signal or interfering.
