hello mate, we found the problem, the problem was, there was a block at the valve at the back, which the air goes into the evaborator, so we change that, now its back to normal, except the droping of ice was used to be 19 to 20 mins each batch now it take to 25min to 30min drop per batch, i even adjust the sensor, is there any other thing i forget to adjust. hope to hear from you,

    thanks henry

you didnt say you bought it new or used.

if used most likely its the condensor, its either going out or defective the radiator should be free of dust and fan cleaned and moving.

    Let us know, Thanks

Check the ice thickness sensor for mineral buildup and clean if necessary. I downloaded the service manual from a site in New Zealand. If the Ice thickness sensor is free of scale make sure you are NOT supplying the machine with soft water.

Let me know if this solves your problem. I have been servicing Scotsman Ice Machines for over 38 years in the US. I will try to assist you any way I can. This particular model is not sold in my country.

If the name plate on a unit specify(s) only 60 Hz cycles I would not apply it to a 50 Hz cycle power supply. If the name plate states 50/60 cycles it can be used on ether power supply.

Back to the beginning. Check and clean the sensor, it should be 1/4 inch (6.33MM) from the evaporator. Replace the sensor is it does not work. Part number CM81453434.

Clean the sensor with a tooth brush and Ice Machine cleaner. Then rinse it very good and dry it.

In the cleaning of the sensor not very much pressure is used to do the cleaning with the tooth brush. Using hot water with the ice machine cleaner accelerates the action of the cleaner to dissolve any mineral deposits. Scraping with any metal object will scar the plastic surface giving area for buildup in the future.

Cycle time is determined by water supply and ambient temperature. These factors will vary. Check the thickness of the bridge between the cubes. As long as the bridge thickness is within specifications you should be O.K.

ok, what you have not told me was the temp of the ice plate. If you have an inferred thermometer now is a good time to use it. what is the Temp of the plates or ice collection try. Ice will never collect if it is not below zero C. 32F my guess is it must be below 28F. you need some kind to thermometer.

Ice cube machine going into defrost/harvest mode without having ice.

Inside the bin there is a photoelectric sensor that senses the level of ice in the bin. This sensor can be knocked out of alignment in time which will send false signals to the controller. Re aim the sensor and make sure it is tight. This may solve the problem.

Scotsman ice machine problems

harvest thermo must not be working, or harvest cycle motor

Jan 03, 2014 | Ice Makers

1 Answer

Sce170a-1a wont harvest

This machine has a cube size control. Which tells the machine when to go into a harvest. there is a harvest switch did you try to force it into a harvest and if you did, did it harvest. depending on ambient temperature from start of freeze cycle to harvest it should be making ice every 15 to 18 minuets and then go into a harvest. so start the ice machine and time it , run it for 18 minuets and force into a harvest. after ice drops check the ice bridge thickness. Bridge thickness should be about 3/16'' the ice dimple must not be DEEPER than 1/16". If this is good then we need to look at what is not working to harvest ice. The cube size control is a reverse - acting thermostat that controls the start of the timed freeze cycle. It must be set properly to prove the correct size cube bridge. When it is closed, an indicator light on the control board will be on. If you force it into a harvest and it harvest the ice with no problems and the ice is at the right thickness then replace the cube size control, but if dose not harvest the ice and you see the ice is at a good thickness and not to thick because if it is to thick it will freeze to every thing and will not drop. SYMPTOM. Unit freezes, but will not try to harvest. POSSIBLE CAUSE: Cube size control will not close; to check: Unplug water pump, switch unit OFF and then ON, in about 2 minutes the timed freeze light on the control board should be ON. PROBABLE FIX: If timed freeze light does not go ON, replace cube size control. SYMPTOM #2: Timed freeze light glows, but after 4 minutes unit dose not power hot gas nor purge valves Then replace control board.

MV450 Scotsman Ice machine

1. bin full when bin is empty means that the bin control sensor is dirty or need to be replaced. But since your having problems with water over flowing also i would bet that your machine needs a good cleaning. is you water full light on or off? if off and water sump try is full then you need to pull water sensor out and clean or replace it. if water sensor light is on then you need to replace water inlet valve.

Mv450 scotsman high pressure

Check to make sure the condenser coil is clean, fan motor is running during freeze cycle. High Ambient temp, Ventilation, The higher the temperature entering the condenser coil the higher the head pressure. Fan motor failure, pressure switch failure. The cut out pressure varies 400, 450 or 500 PSIG. Water supply failure. not enough water running over the evaporator plate will cause high presser.

Personally I think the prices that you paid for the new TXV and dryer are VERY far out of line.Get what information you can off of the TXV power assembly and valve body along with the manufacturer of the valve and I will see what I can find out for you. If it is the power assembly that is rusted out and leaking there are kits for replacement parts on most valves.
