Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My sound devices are missing on compaq presario sr1758nx and i don't know how to fix

No problem ktotko, just download AND install the AUDIO drivers.

However I do not find a SR1758nx model.
There is a SR1750nx model, and a SR1755 model.

Could it be that the 0 or 5 looks like an 8?

[ Drivers are small pieces of software, that allow the Operating System to 'communicate' with a device.

Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, are a few examples of an O/S. Operating System.

The audio chipset on the Compaq Presario's motherboard, is an example of a device.

People often download the drivers they need, but fail to realize that the drivers need to be INSTALLED also. Otherwise the driver files just sit in a folder, and are NOT installed ]

Compaq Presario SR1750nx, main support page,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=1815877&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

In the list left-click on - Software and Driver Downloads. (In blue)

Takes you to the page, where you choose what Operating System you are using.

Click on the blue down arrow, to the right of the box, that has - Select - in it.
In the drop down list click on Windows XP.
(Doesn't matter if it's Home Edition, or Pro Edition)

In the list click on the + sign to the left of -
Driver - Original (4)

Under the blue heading -
Spring 2006 Original Realtek AC'97 Audio Drivers,
,click on - More info

Compaq Presario SR1755nx, main support page,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=1818062&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

Clicking on - Software and Driver Downloads - in the list, brings you to the page where you choose what Operating System you are using.

Windows XP,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=1818062

In the list, left-click on the + sign to the left of -
Driver - Original (4)

Spring 2006 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers

Click on - More info. (In blue under the above file name )

The audio driver files need to be DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED.

Post back with the exact model number of the Compaq Presario, and I will lead you step by step in downloading, and installing.

Can't make out what the last number is?
(SR1750 or SR1755)

I am trying to install sound driver to presario m2000 it shows the failure message. I tried so many drivers but failure message is coming so please help me.

What version of Windows are you using? It appears that HP only supports Windows XP drivers on the M2000, so if you're not running XP that is likely the start of your problem. I see two audio drivers available, so if you weren't getting your driver direct from HP I'd download and try installing either of these:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-22934-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=433559&sw_lang=&os=228

or

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-27507-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=433559&sw_lang=&os=228

Now if you're not running XP you're going to have to try to track down a custom driver, or a driver from the manufacturer for whatever OS you're using.

Conexant Higth Definition Smartaudio HD2 Cod. 1

This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

Your "Compaq Presario 700" notebook series does not support "High Definition Smartaudio HD2 drivers". Most probably wrong drivers installed to your notebook.

Your "Compaq Presario 700" Notebook Series audio are probably:-
1. ADI SoundMAX Audio Driver for Windows XP
or
2. ADI 188x WDM Audio Driver for Windows XP ( ie if OS is XP)

You can download the drivers @ http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=96403

Select your Model & OS to download your required Drivers.(To find the exact model, use the "Service Tag" No. to do the search).
Uninstall your previous Audio derivers before installing the downloaded Audio drivers

Hope it helps.

I cant get my wireless to work.

What service packs are installed,
if OS is XP then update to SP2,
any devices present will automatically be updated when you do a windows update,
update then reboot and try again.
Uninstall/reinstall both devices,
You can do the updates from your device manager just select the device right click and update.

This should fix both issues,Wireless and Sound.
