Question about Hitachi 60UX58K 61 in. Rear Projection Television
In my experience, the convergeance is set up using the test mode and then is stored in an EEPROM. If the convergeance has gone out of tollerence a vast amount, it is unlikely that the EEPROM has lost its data and more likely there is a bad connection on a component or indeed a failed driver transistor or I/C.
The only thing you can do by moving the guns is the static convergeance. If that is the problem, slacken off the fixings and adjust the blue, leaving a cover on the red gun so you only see green and blue. Whwen that is satisfactory, cover the blue and uncover the red doing the same. That is all you can do without the test mode setting.
