Sounds like either a dry joint on the selection board or the remote control is transmitting erratically. Try putting the remote controller out of the room first. If that doesn't fix it, the panel that the sockets are on is the suspect board. Look for poor soldering.

I have a sharp lc30hv6u LCD flat screen TV I'm trying to only watch TV what cable do I need and what is the difference between inputs 1 2 & 3 thank you

You need to re-thnk how this tv works. The AVS system box that came with the TV which is at the bottom of your picture controls the inputs. So a TV antenna goes into the ANT-A in the top left corner of the back of the AVS system box. The AVS cable has to connect the TV to the AVS system. So the inputs 1 2 3 have to be all connected . I assume to watch TV you need to somehow tell the AVS system to switch the AVS to TV.
I have seen a similar system with an after market sound and video processor that switches the audio and video to the tv from many different sources.

32" samsung hdtv flat panel: switches when you don't want it from tv to av/pc or av to tv/pc.

Sometimes, TVs will switch to a new input when they sense a new signal on the new input. So if you're watching TV and someone turns on the AV device (or makes a change that alters or starts a video signal), the TV may switch over to that signal. This is a function of the TV. Some TVs allow you to disable this function, others do not. I looked in the manual and didn't notice where this could be enabled or disabled. If you want to only watch one source, make sure the other sources are turned off.

Have connected cable (white, yellow, red) from Conia DVD player to TV as component 1 and connected Sony VHS cable (white, yellow, red) to TV as component 2. What other steps need to be taken for the...

component video needs Red, Green, Blue to be connected on the DVD end and to the TV for video to display, also the Red and White audio out needs to be connected to the TV for audio to work .
VHS has Red, White an yellow for Right Audio, Left Audio and video respectively.
You need to switch the inputs on the TV to the corresponding Component and Video inputs. Most TV's have a source or Input button to switch between the inputs. simply press the button until you have the input you are looking for.

Hi,
Looking at a diagram of the back of your TV I see that you have only one Coax input. You will need to plug either your antenna or the DirecTV in one of the other sources available on the back of the TV.
According to DirecTV's website, their box also uses composite video cables and depending on the age of that box, may have an HDMI connection also.
Looking at the back of your TV, the composite video cable input is the top two rows to the right of the Coax input you are currently using.
Once you have both connected to different inputs, you can use your remote to switch between the sources and watch whichever you like.

When you turn the television on, the screen is blank except for the letters/words: VGA NO SIGNAL We called our cable company and all their suggestions did not work. Could you...

Are you trying to watch tv or use it for the computer? The input or source selection is on VGA at the moment which is the 15 pin input at the rear and it is expecting your computer to be attached. If you are using it with your computer you need to set the resolution on the computer to match the monitor, if you are not then switch the input to TV or whatever you have connected.
If you want to watch cable then switch the input through all the choices until you see a picture. Make sure the cable box is plugged in and powered on. The source or input button is below the number 9 on the remote, SOURCE: Press to select the signal
source, such as TV, AV, S-Video,
Component 1, Component 2 or VGA.

If you don't have a manual to tell you how to switch inputs you should find one here:

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

Component input colour is messed up

Hi,
Go to the back of the TV and make sure, the component cables are inserted in all the way. Do the same for the source (cable or satellite receiver) component cables should be firmly inserted.
Try narrowing the problem by testing the TV with a different source, such as a DVD player if it compatible with the component. If the TV works with the DVD then your TV is fine and the problem goes back to the source (Cable or Satellite Receiver)
If the TV still not showing natural colors after been tested with another source.. then, the TV may have a bad PCB.

Best of Luck

Can tune mitsubishi HS-651V video player/recorder to watch TV.

Hi Jaco, Have you fed in your Antenna / cable into the Rear of the VCR? And if your VCR has a Input selection switch, just check input to Tuner. You will get Blue screen if input selction is not Tuner but Camera / External source. If this does not solve your problem, then there is no Input selection happening.
