More then likely it is the belt switch to reset the switch unplug the dryer, remove the power cable and back cover completely. Note last two screws holding back cover are under the top cover which is held on with two screws at the rear. Remove the screws then pull top cover back and then lift it off. Remove last two screws and take off the full back cover . On the front of the motor you should see two white wires going into the safety switch for the belt breaking. Push the button on the left to reset the switch (you probably will hear a click) Do not push the right button as that is the trip button. Hope this helped Tim

If you manually turn on timer can you hear the faint ticking? #1Verify breaker is not tripped. #2 Unplug dryer. Remove back cover. On many makes there are 2 blue wires that connect to a white and black "fuse" towards the bottom of the unit. Unplug both wires and electical tape them together. plug in dryer and start the cycle. If it works, unplug and go buy the fuse. Clean lint out of air system from dryer to lint screen through exhaust.

Clean Lint Filter Light Keeps Dryer from starting

Evidently the fuse blew for some reason.
Keep the dryer unplugged from power for one hour or so. If it still does start, you will have to take apart the dryer, check the fuse, check the thermal fuse, and test the wirings inside.
If you need to call arepairman use the number listed on the owner manual.

alright, make sure that the door switch/sensor isn't broken and that it is closing all of the way. Try turning the dial on the dryer around a few times and seeing that it clicks and try it in a different cycle and see if it starts.

let me know if this still doesn't work and we can try a few other things. If it is new and you find something that is damaged then it can probably be taken back and swapped. Also, your warranty might also cover a house visit to check it out if it still won't work after doing the above which I would look into by giving the place a call.

Please let me know what you do and check and whether it helps or not and I will give you a few other things you can do, thanks

Buttons, sounds, lights all go on but the dryer will not dry

Hello toofdr - Often this occurs because either a fuse from the fuse box is blown or the switches on the breaker tripped, depending on your house. If your house uses fuses, there are two house fuses that supply voltage to the dryer circuit in your fuse box. If one of the two fuses is blown, the unit may turn on but will not heat. Check and replace fuse in fuse box if necessary. However, if the house has circuit breakers, there may be two breakers with switches that supply voltage to the dryer and if one is tripped the unit as well will experience this issue. The heater of a dryer requires 220 to 240 volts to operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately two minutes, turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If the issue persists, it could also potentially mean a number of other things: defective cord, wiring, control board or door switch. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the dryer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

Check the motor for a blown fuse or circuit breaker attached to it, maybe a wire is disconnected from it. Another thing to look at is the actual switch on the top. Is it making good contact? Does it have a fuse or circuit breaker attached? Is it getting power?

Sensor light comes on when you push the start button but does not start spinning

This is a problem commonly caused by a blown thermal fuse due to a faulty thermistor or cycling thermostat depending on the model of the dryer. The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing and wired in series with the motor. The motor cannot therefore run when the thermal fuse blows open and no dryer functions works.

Unplug the dryer then remove the bottom panel and the lint duct and check continuity of the thermal fuse. You can also bypass the thermal fuse for troubleshooting purposes. Check for blocked lint filter and restricted vent system if the thermal fuse is indeed blown then replace it including the thermistor/cycling thermostat. I would check the power to the dryer. Might be a loose connection. After confirming that I had power to the machine I would unplug it and check the fuse. It is located on the inside and therefore I would need to break it down, clean it up and check all of the safety's including the duct fuse. Then I would eliminate any air restrictions that may have caused the dryer to fuse to melt from overheating.themobilian_420.jpg

Wait apx 90 min and try it if it starts your dryer needs to be cleaned out. also ck your vent to the outside. If you have a ohm meter you can ck the switch that closes with the door to make sure it is working. The other problems are motor switch located on the front of the motor. This switch controlls the motor on and off and speed. If you take your dryer apart there will a paper schematic inside if you can read a schematic it is very simple to diagnose your problem. Remember to unplug your dryer before attemptingany repair.

My Maytag Bravo Steam Dryer runs for about 5 minutes and gets hot and then kicks the breaker in the breaker box. HELP!!

Hello there:
It blows fuses or trips the circuit breaker Electric dryers use 220 volts or two power lines of 110 volts each. Some components in the dryer need only 110 volts; the heating element requires 220 volts. So it's possible for one part of the dryer to be fine and another part to have a short circuit. Short circuits can be caused by the heating element, the main power cord, or any other part of the internal wiring. To decide where the problem lies, unplug the dryer, then:It could be also wired backwardes so make sure to have this checked'

If the circuit breakers or fuses remain on and/or intact when the dryer is unplugged, it's likely the problem is with the dryer. Contact a qualified appliance repair technician. If the circuit breaker trips or the fuse blows when the dryer is unplugged, it's likely the problem is with the house wiring, fuse box, or circuit box.

Turn the breaker off (or remove fuses) at electical box. Remove cover from dryer recepticle and look for loose wire(s) or other sings of a poor connection. If all good there, check for the same at the circuit breaker / fuse box. Also check that the power cord connections are tight where it attaches to the dryer.
