ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Note: This method works with most front loading machines.

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Note: Some tops hinge and tilt backwards so they do not have to be removed and the electrical console with stay with the lid.
Also remove the lint filter and the screws holding the lint filter housing in place.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor. Now is a good time to replace the front felt seal on the drum if it needs to be replaced. Be sure to use a good grade of weatherproof cement on the seal to glue it to the drum, sometimes the glue is furnished with the seal.
Now is also a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots they will make a thumping type of noise or if there is too much wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3inOne oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

Haier dryer makes ticking noise

The ticking noise could be either a piece of the belt hitting as it spins around, it could be something stuck in the drum that is hitting it as it turns too, or it could be the electric motor making the noise. Either way it sounds like you may need to tear it apart to see what's going on.

Dryer sounds like it has a shoe in it. It has NO rollers! Wazzup?!

Your tub is either outta balance i.e. could be bent or the spindle bent or wore out and if it doesn't have any rollers its riding on a spindle with a bearing and hitting something when it rolls around and should have a plastic glider on the front of the drum something definitely sounds broke if its sounding like that. Also if it has rubber fins on the inside make sure they are tight that could be another possibility. I would recommend you calling a qualified service technician to come and have a look at it if its that back spindle probably wont be worth fixing cost allot of money plus labor but till someone can physically look at it who works on them its to hard to diagnose over the internet sorry to tell you this but hope it helps some to at least check the fins.

LG Tromm DLE5977W Dryer about 1 1/2 yrs old. Running small load on normal and we heard a funny clunk noise and than the dryer shut off. When i went to look, power was still on with 20 min. left on timer....

3 screws on back of dryer to remove the top. Top slides back about 2 inches and lifts off. Dryer drum should have a thin drive belt around it. Pull on belt. If broken you will know. If loose, then it's off pulleys. Sounds like a broken belt. Check repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for dyi videos on how to replace.
