Hello
If there is a poping sound inside the tv, some type of arcing takes places inside it. So many white lines across the screen can be caused by over screen voltage. You should contact to a service technician to rectify the problem.

White lines that are constantly on will go away for a few seconds then pop back up.. Mitsubishi 73" model number WD-73640

You need to replace the 4719-001997 DLP Chip. this should solve the issue.
This chip can be expensive so look around before you purchase. This is a common problem with these TVs, both white lines and white dots. You can find out how to replace the chip by going to this website: http://www.fixyourdlp.com/2012/09/04/solve-the-mitsubishi-wd-73640-white-dot-problem-with-a-new-4719-001997-dlp-chip/.Hope this helps

White lines on screen

It is a problem in the vertical circuit of the set---most likely a bad filter cap connected directly to the vertical output IC chip.

It may be a do it yourself repair if you are handy.

Let me know if you have questions.

Good day.

Refering to to mr walts inquiry and if it is, maybe you are having some issues in your vertical circuitry. It may be loose that it needs to be resoldered and other filter capacitors within the vertical section.

White noise on screen with screeching sound

white unstable lines plus screeching noise it basically due to loose contact at input 1 like antena or cable wire or socket loose. 2 loose contact some where in your tv. 3 loose contact in some electrical thing. 4 loose near tuner section. hope this will help.

JVC AV-32F704 32" TV Picture is blurry - cannot read any writing on the screen

You didn't mention if you saw fine white diagonal lines running through the screen from top to bottom. If so, you likely have a shorted Picture Tube which is not usually fixable. If there are no lines seen running through the screen, then it is possible the High voltage transformer which also has a screen voltage and focus control built in that could be bad. I would expect the cost of that part to be about $100, so the repair cost total could approach that of a new set I would guess.
