My Gigabyte 8i945pl-g motherboard has stopped connecting to the SATA drives. I updated to F8 bios and have tried all the bios settings for PATA/SATA connection. The drives operate OK in another computer....

Hi thanks for your question.
I would suggest to-
1. Set BIOS to default. 2. Check the cable that drive is connected with (use know good cable) 3. Try and use different socket on motherboard (if you have one)
If all of this fails I'm afraid this may mean that your motherboard has developed a fault. Best of luck!

Pick any location except for the American server, it doesn't seem to want to download properly.

There you go, thank you for choosing Fixya!

Gigabyte GA-8INXP Motherboard Problem- front connector pins

If the wires from the reset switch is white/blue the blue wire is positive, Hdd red/white red is positive power Green/white Green is positive etc. The wires on the speaker connector will be red/black/black/white - red is positive. The colored wire is always positive. On all GA mb's the positive connection is always towards the back of the MB and are marked with a + on the base of the pin as you can see on the photo. Hope this help.

Problem with GA 8LD533

There are a few easy fixes for this, first,

Clear the CMOS (Unplug the power cord, remove the battery, and (if it's an option) move the jumper J1 (it has three pins, the jumper covers two, move it to cover the other one), unplug everything external from the motherboard apart from the PSU and power switch and speaker, replace battery, powercord, and jp1, power up - what happens?

Connecting hdd led lead and power led lead, where do they go ?

Hi, There are 3 versions of this motherboard; 1.0, 2.0 & 3.3, but the layout is identical. The general layout is shown in pins.jpg. For the power led, the white wire goes to the (-) terminal either pin 2 or 3, both are MPD- while the green goes to the ( ) or pin 1 (MPD ) as shown in powerled.jpg HDDpins.jpg shows the connection of HDD led, the white goes to pin 3 or HD- while the red goes to pin 1 or the HDD . I cropped these images from the manual which is also available at the gigabyte website. Hope this gives you some ideas and workout of you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up. Kind regards.
