Question about Casio FX-9860G Graphic Calculator

I am sorry but I will have to assume that you know how to enter the data.

Once you enter your data [MENU][STAT], press [F1:Graph], select Gph1,
Gph2, or Gph3. Once the graph of the experimental data is drawn, you
will have access to the diverse regression models. Your choices are
[X:Linear] [Med-Med], [Quadratic :X^2] [Cubic;X^3] [Quartic: X^2].
Press [F6] to scroll right to access the others: [Logarithmic:LOG],
[Exponential :EXP], [Power :Pwr] and [Sinusoidal: Sin]

After you select a model and press [EXE], the screen displays the
equation and its various coefficients. On that same screen, you have a
menu option [F6:Draw]. If you select it, the regression curve will be
drawn on the same screen as your statistical graph. This allows you to
judge if the fit is good. If it is not, you have the option to choose
another model.

The other option [F5:Copy] allows you to save the regression equation in the Y1, Y2, etc. variables.

PS If you do not know how to enter data post a comment to this effect and I will see what I can do to help you.

Hi,

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Goodluck!

You should check your manual. The FX300MS has only three calculation modes: COMP (regular calculator), SD (standard deviation) and REG (statistical regression analysis). You cannot solve equations.

It it is a graphing calculator, the sequence ALPHA 6 should enter the letter r on the command line. For scientific calculator, the r is a system variable that holds the correlation coefficient for some regression models.

L1, L2, L3?

If you are doing statistics, Set MODE to 3. Stat.

Choose 1-Var or any regression model. If you press 1-var you will have two lists x and frequency.

For any regression model you have 3 lists x, y, and Freq(uency).

L1, L2, L3, are list names in the TI 83/84 Plus and the Casio graphing calculators.

However I have no idea what getting the charts up mean.

I hope it helps

Press [MODE][3][2]. In first column enter known x-coordinates (1 and 5), in second known y-coordinates (2 and 6). The solution you are looking for is in form Y=A+B*X where X=3. Your calculator computes A and B after you enter data. To calculate Y (which is equal to A+B*3 press [SHIFT][1][7][1][+][SHIFT][1][7][2][*][3][=]. The result should be 4.

Press Menu.

Use arrows to highlight STAT icon and press EXE.

Enter your data in two lists (x-values in L1, Y-values in L2)

Press F2 to activate the CALC Tab at the bottom of screen.

This is what you see.

Press F3 to activate the REGression tab.

This is what you will see: the TABs at the bottom of screen.

Each tab corresponds to a regression model: X-linear, X2 quadratic, etc.

If you press F3:X^2, you get the following

You see the parameters of the regression equation, the coefficient of determination r^2, and the Mean Square error. No correlation coefficient is defined for this regression model.

For other models like linear, logarithmic, power and exponential regressions, the correlation coefficient is defined and is thus displayed with the regression equation. It is the r-value.

Hello,

You will find it on the same screen where you find the regression equation, the regression coefficients etc. However it is not defined for certain types of regressions.

Hope it helps.
