Oh yeah, the overcast, zipper, blind hem, and button foot are widely available - as are lots of other fun feet (such as rolled hemmers, roller, teflon, fringe, pintuck, cording, pearls/piping, felling, flower stitching, walking, freemotion quilting, you name it.) You just need to look for low shank attachments - that's what the 224 takes. Congrats on lucking out with such an amazing machine! As for the automatic buttonhole foot, I did see one on Amazon (search 'low shank buttonhole foot") that would probably work, but haven't tried that one so I don't know for sure. Happy sewing. :)

My miele shuts off and/or will not start unless i wiggle the cord and get lucky. what can i do at home? i have no money to bring it to a service center.

If you think you're going to get to me that way ... you're right!
Soft-touch is my middle name. :-)

I can think of a few possibilities.
- The AC outlet where you plug the vacuum may be faulty. - Not uncommon.
- The plug on the power cord may be either loose or the blades may be corroded. - Most likely.
- The power cord may have a break in it. - Probable.

Let's eliminate the possibilities.
1. Plug something else in the AC outlet and see if shaking the cord does anything.
Is the appliance on regardless you shaking the cord?

2. With your vac power cord fully extended plug it in.
Step on the cord about half way, and shake the section between your foot and the vacuum.
Anything? Probably not.

3. Now shake the section between your foot and the AC outlet.
Anything? Probably yes.

I suspect the problem is in, or very near, the plug itself. The new molded plugs tend to go like that.
Take hold of the cable about a foot from the plug and gently move it pushing lightly towards the wall. The vac will likely come on.

If that's the case, all you need is a replacement plug that's in good shape, and a good samaritan-ess to replace it for you. Unless of course you're the handy type.

If it is a three prong plug, make sure to use the same type.

I have a Dr. Scholl's Comfort Plus foot bath model number DR6652 only one side of the bubble is working what could be the problem. And how do I thoughly clean it.

yes,

seal is stuck.

open it with a screwdriver.

then, the side that is stuck, take a plier and remove the metal clip closest to the motor. with pliers again, unstuck the tube that is most likely stuck and remove one side of it. blow into it with your mouth. not too hard.

when unstuck, you can blow and **** air... you should feel and hear the diafragm work fine.

close it up and voilà.

My solution release is not releasing cleaning solution

This unit uses two things to release the solution:
(1) an eletrical switch in the upper handle to send the signal to the foot valves, and
(2) an electric valve in the foot to release the solution to dispense on the carpet.

There is not reason to believe the switch has failed, and you would need somebody to check the voltage at the valves when the trigger is pulled. This should only be done by a person comfortable with a electric test meter, as this is 120 volts to the valves.

Low suction on hover bagless wind tunnel

Hi there it's SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. 9 times out of 10 the loss of suction on this machine will be due to worn or blocked filters. It is most likely to be the filter which is in the dirt canister. It is a bit of a pain to clean but it is the best way to restore lost suction. Simply remove the filter and tap it out and then start brushing the dirt from all the little grooves using a paint brush (dry of course) or similar. If you are lucky enough to have an air compressor this is by far the most effective but be aware it will make a mess so dont do it in the lounge room. If you think this is not the problem send me another message and ill see what else i can suggest. Happy Vacuuming :)
