Question about Radio Shack Cinego D-1000 Multimedia Projector

Cinego D-1000 red light flashing

When you suggest placing a fan on the left side of the projector to prevent over heating, do you mean placing the fan on the left side of the projector looked at from the front or the back?

Looking at it from the front of the projector so it would be the left side. I went according the the projector's fan air intake and then blowing it out to keep cool. It worked fine. Good luck.

My cinego shuts down

There are two fans on the right side. If one stops working, the Cinego will have the symptoms you have described. You need to send it in for repair. A local Radio Shack will tell you where to send it.

My cinego when it gets past hot, it turns off

There may be a problem with one of the three cooling fans no longer functioning. There are two fans on the right side (if you are looking in the same direction as the projector is projecting) and one on the left. If even one doesn't function, the unit will too quickly overheat. It must be sent in for repair, in that case.

I'm having the same issue currently. I was able to get a hold of the Cinego Tech at Radioshack in Texas. He said 99% of the time it is the bulb. I'm currently looking for a replacment.

D-1000 Cinego

I would try cleaning the fan or possibly watching the fan and make sure it continues to spin nearing the 10min window. Also those fans can be intermittant or fail when the become warm or the bearings could be going bad or gawling. Is the fan noisy at all? Also the lamp could be going bad or the ballast power supply. Projectors are tricky puppys. But you may also check the safety switch near the opening for the lamp. There should be some sort of blue switch which is closed or activated when the cover for the lamp is put back on. Hope this help you out. Let me know if it does. I am trying to become and expert advisor. Thank you in advance. Jay
