Question about Optoma / CTX EzPro 610H / 615H Replacement Projector Lamp - SP.81218.001 Projector Lamp

Open Question

I have a second - hand Optoma EzPro 615H projector. I temporarily replaced the broken UHP bulb with a 150W 110V QH bulb, which gives just enough light to see the image at close range. This image shows the Optoma logo, but the buttons relating to the image ,e.g. The menu button, do not work, Also, connecting it to my laptop is ineffective. Does having the wrong bulb in scramble the electronics? Also, is a service manual available?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Hi, Optoma USA recommend that you set the PC resolution to SVGA (800 x 600) or XGA (1024 x 768). Your HP Pavilion ze 4900 default resolution is S = SXGA (1400 × 1050) or X = XGA (1024 × 768). I would assume that your cable(s) are properly mated/attached from the laptop to the projector. If on pressing TV Now! One-Touch button with a TV icon at the top of your keyboard to switch the display to the TV-Out mode, there is no picture projected, you can try to manually lower the screen resolution of your PC. Try lowering it to the 800 X 600 setting in your Display Properties. Also, you may want to check if the Dual Display Mode is enabled/activated. You can try different resolution setting as long as the projector can handle it. Hopes this works and give you an idea. Should you need more assistance, pls post/comment. Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: Image upside down

I'm on this site because my projector is down after swithcing out the bulb or I could jot down the exact steps for you. It's a very easy fix. When you push the menu button on your projector to get into settings, there is one that will allow you to flip the image. Sorry I can't be of more help

How do I correctly wire/connect a Ballast/Capacitor and Timed Ignitor to a 150W Metal Halide light fitting? Regards, Mike Pye

well mostly these lights come with a ballast and the right connector to go from the Ballast to the bulb, if you dont have these then it might just be cheaper to get another set-up. these bulbs run at the high end of the spectrum , in the infa red end of it actually , but really are an ineficient bulb like the mercury-vapour that preceded them compared with the later models , lets say from the 'sonti-agros' till now ( a much more usable spectrum of light and more efficient ) there are a huge range to choose from, as far as the scematics of it well they differ from light to light and brand to brand, hope this has been of some help. geoff

Will not turn on

Hi I have a Optoma EZPro 610 that does not turn on. I know it's getting power because I can see the fan trying to move but it does not spin. I have no lights at all. I just got this from a friend and I don't know if the bulb is good. Is there a way to test the bulb? Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Optoma EP732H Projector - Image is Whitewashed

Hi tourblack

I wouldn't think that this is a lamp issue , as the lamp will make the picture fade away in brightness and wouldn't look white washed.

Check if the brightness is set to 50% and the contrast on 50% as well.

This could be a colourwheel that is in need of replacement.

Owner manual CD

Follow this link; http://asia.optoma.com/Product_User_Menu/EP757UserManualEn.pdf Gives the manual for the EzPro 757 which may help you out. There do appear to be quite a few similarities and differences between the models, but unfortunately if a manual is available online for the 756 then i couldnt find it. Hope it helps at least a bit :)
