Download the Catalyst Software Suite Driver & CCC. You will find a ton of control within the Catalyst Control Center.

Go to the link below, fill in your operating system, pick mobility radeon than click your series 9700 download & save to drive.
You'll need directX 9.0c & Windows .Net framwork 2.0 installed. Please do not skip any lower versions of .Net framwork while updating windows & only download 1 .Net framwork at a time. Restart the notebook inbetween installs of .Net framwork even if windows does not ask to restart. Lastly before you run the ATI update please uninstall any drivers from ATI through Add/Remove programs.
Download DirectX here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx?displaylang=en
ATI Mobitity driver here. http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
Things will be fine!

Please copy and paste the following address, this will take you to ATI's website where you can download the driver, after selecting which version of Windows you use and choosing 'Radeon' then scrolling down the list to select
'Radeon 9550'. If you aren't sure which version of Windows you have then on your desktop right click 'My Computer' and left click "Properties" , this will show the version.
Once you have downloaded the driver, open it and then proceed through the prompts to install it and reboot.
Hope this helps.

Have you tried the windows update, usually for vista they have a built-in WDM drivers for ATI, and right now you may want to use that for the meantime if the computer did not recognize the exact model number also when using the windows update it you can check if microsoft has a new WDM driver for your video card.
The video card is a built-in video card on the mobo, right?
