Using MS Word2003, running Windows XP Inserting a picture from a scanner works ok and it prints ok on a Canon PIXMA IP3000. To move the picture around the page we click on it and go to Format/picture/layout/ and click on "behind the text"....... it used to print normally, but not anymore, out comes a blank page! I have repaired Word2003, which has not made any difference. Over to you people

Sorry, I forgot to mention that have connected another printer, a Canon PIXMA IP4500 and exactly the same thing happened. I think you are barking up the wrong tree; I think the problem is in Word!

Give it another try, cheers Rick Nauta

    Dear Azraelsri,
I have found the solution, forget about drivers, printers, scanners etc!
In Word 2003 goto Tools/options/General and you'll find "Include with document"
TICK: DRAWING OBJECTS and everything works fine!
You owe me a beer! Cheers Rick Nauta (I am a retired IT Pro)

I am afraid the boot is on the other foot!
I would appreciate some acknowledgement of teaching your "Guru" something! Rick Nauta

Ok. Thats weird. Does the text print out ok? Did you try printing a page with only text and see if it works alright?

Simple test: save the file in question and move it to another pc (put it on a memory stick) : if the file is viewable and printable normally there then the defect is in the printer itself (for some reason its controlling processor can't process the file no more) or its driver.
The only thing you can do is to reinstall the driver: unplug the printer, uninstall the driver, manually delete all remaining folders (beware, the one on C - BJPrinter is hidden), reboot, install and run a registry cleaner like
http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm
reboot again and then reinstall the driver .
If even after that the paper isn't printed correctly then the defect is in the printer itself. You could fix it but that will cost more than a new one.
Time for a new printer.

That is a printer from the same family, it uses the exact same driver. Wise up and test the file in another pc - only if you get the same behavior then you will know for sure it's Word related.

Code:7,202,15- My Canon MX-870 (Twain) gives me this error code when I try to resizew in B/W or grey scale. No problem in color.

"Internal error occurred. Scanner driver will be closed. code 7,202,15"
Received the above error while inserting scanner image using MS Word with Canon printer/scanner Pixma 439.

The solution is via the following MS Word software choices:
From Word tool bar choose: INSERT/PICTURE/FROM SCANNER/then one of two choices, either: WIA-WIA Canon MX430 Series, or choose CUSTOM INSERT (Preferable).

I've just replaced the black ink cartridge on my Canon Pixma IP3000 but it is not printing - absolutely blank. However the colour cartridges are printing fine. Any clues?

Assuming a windows computer ... go to the printers section, right click on the IP3000, click on propterties then the maintenance tab. Try cleaning or deep cleaning and then nozzle check.

On Vista machine, Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.

Choose Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.

A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name. Type in the \\computer name\printer name

Printer does not print documents. Model IP3000 pixma. Approx 3 years old, used in my classroom. Printer has been working well until this morning. This is a sudden failure. Performed all maintainence with...

I had this very same ongoing problem with my iP3000 and recently with my iX4000 but I refused to believe it was the printheads as the iP3000 would print cd/dvd discs without a problem. Colour on paper was always there even though I used Calidad tanks.

My solution, or more aptly, my workaround was to change the paper setting from Plain paper to Glossy paper but still using plain paper and low and behold, after nine months of test pages with only the Windows logo it stated printing black text again albeit slowly now. Same deal for the iX4000, it started printing black text on plain paper as well after 4 weeks when the problem first occurred

I also did all the maintenance rigmarole over and over etc...with no results. My printers are hooked up to two PC's, Vista and XP so maybe I eventually scrambled the printers barins or something, anyway I'm printing again.

Worth a try and nothing to lose

Hello I have Cannon printer PIXMA ip3000

I have a pixma too, they are getting old, but as long as they still work who cares?
Mine started to print green tinted pictures lately, now I'm searching boards and looking for the solution to that. I put in a service request to canon usa, but haven't heard from them yet, maybe never will.
Long Live PIXMA's !
